Starship consoles are specialized pieces of equipment that can be integrated into a starship that unlocks new abilities and actions. Starships do not typically start with console slots. The table below outlines how many maximum consoles each size category starship can have, however, a ship can only have a maximum of 2 of a specific kind of console.
Show Table
Size | Max Consoles |
Tiny | 0 |
Small | 1 |
Medium | 3 |
Large | 6 |
Huge | 8 |
Gargantuan | 10 |
Colossal | 12 |
Universal Consoles
Universal Consoles are more generalized in their behavior and any Starship role can take advantage of it's ability or action. Typically all but the most rare trade off functionality for versatility.

Helm Consoles
Helm Consoles power up and modify the Starship's engines and movement capabilities. Unless otherwise specified, any actions provided by the console can only be taken by a creature in the Pilot role.

Subspace Engine Shunt | Uncommon | 8 | 3BP / 2000EC |
Descriptions
Subspace Engine Shunt
This console integrates with a starship's engines to vent built up energy into subspace. The ship has an additional Pilot Action: Subspace Boom.
Subspace Boom (Operations Phase, Push)
When you take this action you make a DC (8 + your Starship's CM) Engineering or Computers check. On a success, you shunt energy from the engines into subspace creating a shockwave that radiates out 10 hexes, and can then move your starship up to it's full movement speed. On a failure, the enegery discharges through your engines and your ship operates 1 maneuverability level worse for this round. The ship cannot take this action again for 1d4 rounds.
If you succeeded, all other vessels in range must make a Piloting Check (DC = 14 + Your Starships CM) and on a failure they can only take a fly action the next time they move, their speed is halved, and they have a level worse maneuverability than normal for that round.
Engineering Consoles
Engineering Consoles modify and add capabilities to the core starship's systems. This can range from power core buffers, shield harmonics, or even fuel reserves. Unless otherwise specified, any actions provided by the console can only be taken by a creature in the Engineering role.

Controlled Plasma Regulator | Rare | 4 | 4BP / 3500EC |
Descriptions
Controlled Plasma Regulator
This console integrates with a starship's power systems to give more fine tuned control. When integrated, the ship has a +1 bonus to Re-Route Power actions. Additionally, the ship has an additional Engineer Action:
Eject Warp Plasma.
Eject Warp Plasma (Engineering Phase, Push)
Make an Engineering Check (DC: 13 + your starship's CM). On a success, your engines emit a trail of hazardous plasma in its wake. In the Operations phase, each hex your starship moves through is full of plasma starting with the hex your ship is currently in. Ships other than yours that travel through these hexes take 1d6 damage to shields and are exposed to medium level radiation. (See
Environments and Conditions /
Diseases and Poisons) The plasma fades at the end of the current round.
Science Consoles
Science Consoles modify and enhace the Starship's sensors and computer systems. Unless otherwise specified, any actions provided by the console can only be taken by a creature in the Science Officer role.

Eldari Battle Cloak
The epitome of cloaking technology, the Eldari Battle Cloak elevated the Eldari federation to a dominant military and intelligence power. This cloak grants a -10 penalty to any attempt to scan for the vessel even at close range. The cloak can only be active while the shields are down and renders the ship invisble to visual inspection.
Additionally, this console grants the following science officer action: Cloak / Decloak
Cloak / Decloak (Operations Phase, Push [Power Core])
As your action you engage the cloaking field which lowers your starship's shields and cloaks the vessel. Your AC and TL gain a +8 bonus while the cloak is active. For the purposes of other checks, your countermeasures bonus gains an additional +8 bonus. it takes an action to decloak, ending these effects.
The cloak disengages automatically if your starship uses its weapons or if the Power Core ever enters the malfunctioning state of critical damage, with shields coming back online at the end of the round. If it drops as a result of using your weapons you retain the defensive bonus for that round, but your shields are still down so any attacks that do hit, will directly go to the hull.
Eldari Cloaking Field
Closely guarded and nigh impossible to get, the Eldari Cloaking device was the first widespread device that could mask a starship of size. This standard cloak grants a -6 penalty to any attempt to scan for the vessel even at close range. The cloak can only be active while the shields are down and does not make the ship invisble to visual inspection.
Mk I Eldari Cloak
Closely guarded and nigh impossible to get, the Eldari Cloaking device was the first widespread device that could mask a starship of size. This standard cloak grants a -3 penalty to any attempt to scan for the vessel even at close range. The cloak can only be active while the shields are down and does not make the ship invisble to visual inspection.
Shimmer Cloak
Based on the rudimentary understanding of Eldari Cloaking devices, a Shimmer Cloak can only be activated while the starship's shields are down and cannot be active in combat. When active, a Shimmer Cloak makes it difficult for the vessel to be detected by sensors and scannors, imposing a -3 to any scan actions made to detect the ship while it is at least 50 hexes away from the scanning entity. The effect fails once your ship enters within 50 hexes / 50 miles of a scanning entity.
Weapon Consoles
Weapon Consoles add complexity and versatility to starship weapons by creating advanced weapon protocols. Unless otherwise specified, any action provided by the consol can only be taken by a creature in the Gunner role.

Command Consoles
Command Consoles are integrated components into starship systems that unify the systems and grant abilities to the command crew of a vessel. Any action provided by the console can only be taken by a creature in the Captain Role.
