Description:
Ravenloft Tower is a gleaming silver tower that stands 550ft tall. Across its walls inlaid obsidian, lapis lazuli, amethyst, and sapphires glimmer in patterns of ravens, ancient symbols, and murals of faded ethereal beings that some swear change locations when no one is looking. A keen eye will spot the subtle influeces of castles and architecture of ages long past.
Central Courtyard
The central courtyard before the tower is The Azurite Stone; a glowing stone of mystical power hovers in the center of inlaid glowing sapphire of a cirlce with many arrows radiating outward. The small stones floating around the Azurite Stone seem to float in perfect sync with the time of day and coincidentally (or not depending on who you ask) is a suprisingly accurate clock.
First Floor
Once inside the main doors, first time visitors experience a bit of ambiance shock entering the sleek modern exterior into a spacious atrium of faded (and heated!) stone floors and a dark stained, intricate desk with computer and endless candy jar upon it welcomes guests typically staffed by Vosaara. Behind the desk, outstretched and mounted on the wall are great wings of bone, etched with black carvings. Paintings of a blue tiefling, a male goliath with a twisted black staff, a human woman with bow and winged snake along her arm, a dwarf with warhammer, and a half-orc with glowing staff decorate the wall behind the counter. Small jars of odds and ends, a sprig of garlic, and various large and dusty tomes decorate the shelves behind the desk.
Off to the left a large open eating area the Cobalt Harbor, reminiscent of ancient taverns, contains a roaring fireplace and various photographs and trophies decorating the walls. Towards the far end, and another entrance the photos and items transition to holograms and digital displays as they near the outside world again. There is both a buffet line and counter where orders can be made. AES members have full time access for free, while the public has limited hours which they must pay for.
On the righthand side of the atrium are large conference rooms and meeting halls available for rent by the public. These rooms take up much of the first floor and at the center of the layout of the rooms is also a set of public elevators to the 3rd floor monorail platform. Behind the front desk are hallways that need additoinal access to enter, which either may be AES credentials or granted by the facility. These hallways lead to the private elevators that access the rest of the tower.
Second-Fourth Floors
The second through fourth floors are open air for the most part. Large trees and greenery grow throughout the various floors as well as serveral water features such as small pools of water, waterfalls, and fountains. Large windows that are space throughout the various walls allow light into the area from every side. The second floor houses the Chief's office and entry level break out rooms, offices, and communication rooms.
The third floor is dedicated to the monorial station for both tracks along the southside. On the North side of the tower, thus private to AES members or authorized individuals, is a small cafe called Boothby's with more gardens and cliff like formations that form some of the smaller waterfalls.
The fourth floor is the final section of this open air space an contains high ranking living quarters with balconies into the space and guest quarters for visiting dignitaries and similar persons of note.
5th-20th Floors
Floors 5-10 are temporary suites for AES members passing through or entry level ranks. The rest of the floors are various suites that are permanent living quarters for AES members and general guest rooms.
21st-30th Floors
These floors contain various offices, work stations, server rooms and labs. These floors are restricted to AES use only and and are only basic labs and many clerical work stations. Admin Cheryl oversees the work done on these floors and is responsible for their maintenance.
31st - 40th Floors
The section of the tower has space for an experimental weapons range and dedicated advanced science labs. The tower's primary reseach is medical in nature, however many rare specimens from across the galaxy are researched here thanks to the travels of the AES members.
41st-45th Floors
Floor 41 is dedicated to all of the servers and equipment for the floors above this point.
Floor 42 is an extensive Astrometrics Laboratory that also functions as a headquarters / briefing room for high profile missions and alert conditions.
Floor 43 is dedicated to secure communication rooms and additional equipment for long range communications.
Floor 44 contains an excersize room and jogging track for those who need to take a break from tower duties.
Floor 45 is the final normal floor of the tower and functions as a small hanger for speeders and small shuttles that have special access to dock within the tower.
Other Floors
Above the hanger is an open air space with more greenery. The 46th "floor" functions as a rooftop garden and rec space. To the West side of the tower are elevated sections that form other "floors".
The 47th floor is really a small manor house that is Vosaara's private residence. A small water feature of running water circles the structure and cascades down while a faint mist seems to perpetually linger along the grass and plants. Something about the structure evokes a sense of sorrow or loss while still looking elegant and welcoming.
The rest of the towers hight comes from ornamentation or the large communication arrays built into and above the tower.
