Provenire

The Old Gods are locked away, and the New Gods have departed of their own volition. For many, prayer to their vanished deities is their last hope to avoid the bloody power struggle gripping the already decimated landscapes. Provenire is still fresh in the people's memories. In the wake of that cataclysm, the New Gods reforged nations, peoples, the fundamental natures of the world itself.   Scholars argue that despite the turmoil in their wake, the New Gods left the world a better place. When they had been young, when only the distant whisper of Provenire could be heard, there was but one city. Helix. Jealously guarded by its denizens, a sanctuary of culture, society, and water. The only place in the world where water was abundant. Infinite even. Now many nations boast a handful of proud cities, ample water supply, and a thirst for conquest. The New Gods could change the world, but they could not change the nature of man.
