Lucora

Overview

Lucoras are a species of Dragon Foe Lakis that normally live on the eastern half of the Eurasian continent. Avian, they are able to fly across the world if they so choose, though few ever decide to leave the region from which their species originates.
Characteristics
Lucoras are a magical bird vaguely resembling a hawk in shape, except for slightly longer legs and neck. Their feathers are vibrant in shades of purple and green, and with their inverse magic these feathers can be made able to poison anyone who touches them. Though their exact patterns vary by individual, a Lucora usually has a primarily green upper half and a primarily purple bottom half. They grow no larger than the size of an eagle.   A Lucora's magic is a force to be reckoned with, as only Spirit dragons and Conjuring dragons have more magical ability. Their magical stamina is quite high. Lucoras also have access to inverse magic which makes them deadly adversaries to anyone who encounters one. Unlike many Laku, Lucoras tend to use disguise to blend in when in areas dominated by humans, freeing their magical reserves for other, more intensive or involved spells.   As they are smaller than most other Lakis species, Lucoras tend to direct their fatal magic towards defending themselves. Dragons tend to mistakenly view them as low risk threats that are easy to kill in a physical fight, and will start battles with them. It is unknown if Lucoras became Dragon Foes because of these actions or if they evolved with an innate hatred of dragons like other Dragon Foes have, though the former is most likely. Other Lakis species, including other Dragon Foes, also view Lucoras as an abhorrence cue to their tendency of giving their feathers poisonous properties. The need for self defense has pushed the species to become nearly as strong as the dragons despite using inverse magic.
Isolation
Many Lucoras tend to flock in wild lands untouched by human or Lakis, finding companionship within their own species and aiding each other in hunting, learning, and raising young. Others long for adventure and choose to leave, though they do so alone. The only Lakis species that view Lucoras with proper respect and not disdain or hatred are those few others that naturally can access inverse magic.    Despite their inability to heal because of the characteristics of inverse magic, Lucoras can live long lives similar to the life span of a dragon, a century and a half on average for those that die naturally. But many Lucoras do not live that long: victims of random fights, succumbing to the elements when they find trouble but not anyone who can help then, and on occasion, victims of their own loneliness. With the latter, a Lucora either might decide to end their own life, or experiment with their magic out of boredom or out of simmering anger for the injustice they believe they experience.    Should the world ever shift drastically, either from a war between Laku or by the discovery of Laku by humans, no one knows what Lucoras would do. While it makes perfect sense that most Lucoras would join any fight against dragons and prove to be a deadly enemy, they are used to not interacting with others outside of their species and might just remain in the shadows.   On occasion, a Lucora might befriend a Lakis that is open minded enough to accept the Lucora as just another creature of magic. These lucky Lucoras are outgoing around the one they have befriended, though remain hidden around others. It is from these rare friendships that most knowledge of the Lucoras became known by other species.
