Pink Jevv

Also known as the Palinthius Flounder, the Pink Jevv is a species of fish of great cultural significance to the Sirens of A'teris as they are representative of an important element of their culture that has risen up through the Wayfarer's Guild, an organization that has perpetuated many of the values Sirens (A'terian Sirens in particular) share. The largest holiday in A'teris is one specifically centered around this wonderful little fish. 
This species of fish was first discovered by Pinsus Jevv, one of the original founders of the Wayfarer's Guild in 934 SE when he broke into a formerly unexplored network of underground caves near the Kikkari Island Chain and was swallowed by a flood of glowing pink fish. It is unclear how exactly they came to be there, but further evidence of the species suggests that a small group of Plathonian Flounders was stuck behind a collapse of stones following a volcanic eruption and were cut off from the evolutionary life cycles of their brethren.
The cave the Jevv were trapped in was completely devoid of light and all food sources aside from a species of plankton (discovered at the same time as the Pink Jevv) that feed off arcane energy that radiates in the region since the caves are so closely connected to deep ocean hotspots the energy radiating from the core is extremely prevalent. The Jevv adapted their diet to consist purely of the plankton while living in the cave system where they survived for thousands of years. This altered diet and lack of light appear to have had the effect of causing the fish to glow a bright pink.
When the cave network was opened by Pinsus Jevv, the fish started to establish migratory patterns, following the Wayfarer along the currents back to his home of A'teris. Yearly the Jevv make the migration from the cave network near Kikkri through the currents to the A'terian Sea. The migration appears to serve no purpose for the Jevv biologically but is an act that seems almost cultural, a unique phenomenon among non-sapient creatures.
