When being used as a food source, the pelt of the hares are used as well, and are tanned into leather, used for material, furnishings and to assist the making of furniture, as well as being an export for the city.   A more specialised use of this species is as mounts for the Kheral species, being perfect size and easy to tame and breed in captivity as well as very agile, muscular and swift. They are often used to carry messengers to villages or nomads in the desert or further afield to other cities for important matters. In addition to using these creatures as mounts, they are often used for heavy lifting and moving of materials and goods around the city, a fine example of this is the moving of trade goods from the docks at sea level to the south, up to the stalls in the market.   A more social use for these animals is for racing, sure to all of the qualities listed above it is common to see people racing these animals in the outskirts of the city of Ruketha and on tracks carved out in the sand for these races.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Impeccable hearing, keen eyes and sensational smell are what make these hare's such great animals, in addition to this, they are able to feel vibrations in the earth, allowing them to be aware of any potential predators before they are aware of them.
