Andriy Larsen Koltsov

Severmarkish-Lucretian extremist nationalist Militant and founder of the Koltsovite Movement and Vaelta Company

Andriy Larsen Koltsov (*18th December 65 BVK in Crecino, Lucrétia, † 31 July 17 AVK in Vårostad, Ljodasvaedan SFDSR) was a Severmarkish extremist politician, militant and writer who was the founder and former leader of the Vaelta Company and the Eiðmorallan Nationalist's Self Defence Front.

Biography:

Early years:

Andriy Koltsov was born in Crecino, Lucrétia as the son of Ljodasvaedan emigrants who had fled the vassalage of Severmark by the Kingdom of Kélaria in 144 BVK. He grew up there as part of a lower middle-class family. His father, Lars Svanursen Koltsov, worked as a merchant in leather and later became a tailor. Andriy was the oldest of four children. He was the eldest of two sons, having two sisters, one of which died at infant age during the 55 BVK Vein Blight epidemic. His parents were religious, but disliked the strict hierarchy and the way Lucrétian priests used religion to extort money out of people and exert political influence. Andriy would later become a reformist New Tryggkirrian in Lekhisjóða. His younger brother, Fylin Larsen Koltsov, would become a notable researcher and material scientist eventually involved in a leading role in the Severmarkish Union's aerospace and rocketry development programme.

Political Awakening:

Early on in high school in Crécino and later Cartagon, Koltsov started considering himself a socialist and instead of his school books, he started reading Kalthofean socialists Teàrlach of Nantbeck, Ailish Scovell, Siward Clitherow and Severmarkish socialists Lukass Arvidsen Ilogrin and Vettlef Thorstinsen Brantov. Gradually, Koltsov grew more fond of his family's origins, developing a sense of nativism for Severmark and disdain towards, in his eyes, the Kélarian Occupiers.   He graduated from school in 47 BVK with average grades, soon getting an internship at the University of Cartagon's scholarly newspaper agency. The same year, Koltsov started studying History, Political Science and early modern Literature at Cartagon University. Here he met Kjell V. Åkhrimenko, Godric S. Tåmazhev and Ksenia V. Hovrysh, older students from Lucrétia and Severmark, and also socialists. They developed a friendship that would last their whole lives.   During the times of the Cartagon Commune, Koltsov and Tåmazhev received an invitation from Commune leader Patrici Bastida to speak for the revolutionary governments provisional party in front of the Lucrétian public on a demand for a democratisation of labour, universalised welfare and individual wealth ceilings. When the commune was violently dismantled by the Lucrétian gendarmy on orders of Duke Adélard da Casademont, Koltsov aided Tåmazhev, Hovrysh, Åkhrimenko and Bastida in their flight from Nyuvakhta House and Cartagon. Bastida, however, was caught by other students of the University who had tracked him down, and was subsequently executed for treason in 41 BVK. Furthermore, one of Koltsov's sisters, Astraea Larsenna Koltsov, was critically injured during a raid on Koltsov's family's house by the Outer-Kélarian Colonial Security Police at roughly the same time. The Lucrétian goverment at the time was collaborating with the Kingdom of Kélaria and its colonies, allowing Kélarian security forces to act in the name of national defence in areas of Severmarkish/North Kélarian Commonwealth agglomerations. According to Koltsov's memoirs, he lost several more friends and family whose names we don't know, or are unsure of, during the times of anti-revolutionary persecution in the wake of the Cartagon Commune's demise.   Scholars like Sundev and Dahlstin assert that Koltsov's proximity to his siblings, as the oldest and only brother, was a main factor in his growing paranoia and radicalisation in combination with the trauma of persecution and grief over the loss of many friends and relatives.
