Cape Fang

Cape Fang is a bustling port city located at the mouth of the Wyrmtongue River. Known as the Jewel of the Maw, it is a hub of trade and commerce, attracting merchants and adventurers from across the land. The city is ruled by a figurehead Council of Three, who oversees the running of the ports and ensures the river remains open for shipping. The Council of Three is made up of one member from the Aguilan Empire, Korenmier, and a Dwarven Lord from the Iron Covenant.   Cape Fang was once controlled solely by the nation of Koremier and was the epicenter of one of the bloodiest conflicts in the Maw region. In the final days of the war between the nations of Korenmier and The Aguilan Empire, the Lucian Empire and the Allies of the Aguilans had blockaded the ports cutting the city off from resources. After many weeks of starvation, the Aguilan empire breached the city walls, and a pitched battle was fought street by street. The fighting was fierce and it became clear to the Aguilan Empire that the Korenmierians would level the city before surrendering it. The loss of the city would be too costly and too large of a price to pay for either nation after a long and bloody war and preserving it became the first step to peace. After the Peace was declared, the council was formed and the Treaty of Three Marches was signed, later this region would be coined The Red Marches. Today Cape Fang is one of the most prosperous diverse cities in Primeordia.   The city of Cape Fang is nestled on the edge of a rugged and windswept coastline. The city is known for its jagged cliffs and treacherous waters, which have claimed many a ship over the years. The city is built on a network of cliffs, with houses and buildings stacked precariously on top of each other. This gives the city a unique and distinctive appearance and makes it a challenging location to navigate. The city is also home to a large community of aquatic elves, who have lived in the waters around Cape Fang for centuries. They are renowned for their seamanship and their intricate shipbuilding skills. Even with the treacherous waters Cape Fang's location makes it one of the largest ports in this region of the world due to the skill of these master mariners.   Despite its dangerous reputation, Cape Fang is home to some of the most courageous and daring people in the land. Its narrow, winding streets are filled with bustling markets, lively taverns, and secretive guilds. Cape Fang offers plenty of opportunities. The city's harbor is a hub of activity, with merchants and smugglers alike vying for space to unload their wares. There are plenty of pirates and privateers who call Cape Fang home. If you're looking for a place to stay, the Golden Fang Inn is the perfect spot. This cozy inn offers comfortable rooms and hearty meals and is a favorite of travelers and locals alike.   The city is known for its thriving black market, where illicit goods can be found. It is said that if you need something you can't find anywhere else in the world, Cape Fang is the place to go.

Districts

The Cliffside District - This district is located on the cliffs overlooking the sea and is home to some of the wealthiest residents of the city. Its narrow, winding streets are filled with expensive shops and exclusive clubs. Locations of interest: The Golden Anchor Inn, the Cliffside Market, and the Tower of Wealth.   The Waterfront District - This district lies at the foot of the cliffs and is home to most of the city's docks and warehouses. It is a busy, noisy area, filled with the sounds of loading and unloading cargo. Locations of interest: The Fisherman's Guildhall, the Wyrmtongue Trading Company, and the Harbor Master's Office.   The Elven Quarter - This district is located on the banks of the river and is home to the city's aquatic elf community. The buildings here are made of coral and other underwater materials, and the streets are flooded with water to allow the elves to swim freely. Locations of interest: The Coral Palace, the Seadancer's Tavern, and the Tidepool Market.     The Old City - This district is the oldest part of Cape Fang and is home to many of the city's historical landmarks. Its narrow, twisting streets are easy to get lost in, but they are also full of hidden treasures. Locations of interest: The Cathedral of the Sea, the Museum of Cape Fang History, and the Street of Mages.

The Wyrmtongue Trading Company is the largest and most powerful trading company in the city, dealing in goods from all over the world. The Harbor Master's Office is responsible for overseeing the city's ports and is always bustling with activity.   The Elven Quarter - The Coral Palace is the home of the elven king and is said to be one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. The Seadancer's Tavern is a lively bar that is popular with both humans and elves and is known for its excellent seafood. The Tidepool Market is a bustling marketplace that sells everything from rare pearls to exotic sea creatures.   The Old City - The Cathedral of the Sea is a grand church that is one of the oldest buildings in Cape Fang and is home to a powerful order of clerics. The Museum of Cape Fang History is a treasure trove of artifacts and exhibits that showcase the city's rich history. The Street of Mages is a narrow alley filled with magic shops and arcane workshops, where wizards and sorcerers can be found haggling over rare spell components.
