Running a Business

This is part of the Business System, make sure you already read Business Jargon, and Creating a Business.
At the end of each month, you reach a point we call the Balance, where luck determines if shit happens, and you and the GM estimate your earnings (or losses). To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Emergent Issues
    1. Roll 1D100, if the result is equal or below your Risk, you get an Emergent Issue.
    2. If the story specially justifies one special type of Emergent Issue, the GM can pick one. Otherwise, you must roll a die to get one randomly.
    3. Some advantages let you ignore certain types of Emergent Issues, check if you have something to fend it off.
    4. The GM determines when is more sensible for the Issue to arise. It may have happened, affecting your profit collection immediately, or perhaps the consequences will be seen next month (unless you manage to do something about it). It depends on the type of Emergent Issue, your Type of Business, story, etc.
  2. Earnings or Losses
    1. Apply the Business Traits and Emergent Issues modifiers to the Monthly Salaries, Monthly Operations and Monthly Income.
    2. Positive or Negative: Roll 1D10: 6 or above means positive, 5 or below means negative.
    3. Deviation: Roll 1D12, and the result is a percentage. Your previous roll determines if this percentage is positive or negative. If you got negative, and you roll 4, it means -4%.
    4. Apply the previous percentage to your Monthly Income.
    5. Calculate the Net Monthly Profits, and apply any relevant multipliers to the Net Monthly Profits, coming from your Traits and Effects.
    6. You get to save, invest, spend or squander the profits as you see fit. Sex, drugs and alcohol seem tempting. Life is short and risky.
