Alibor Klaedris was a gold-scaled dragonborn, a retired Colonel, and the patriarch of House Klaedris. Alibor was a very old fashioned dragonborn, and expected his sons to serve, so they began training early in their lives. His daughters on the other hand, were to be educated and protected, taught to thrive in higher society. He took part in many trading ventures, and maintained a decent estate. Alibor was very strict with his children, but avoided yelling if he felt he could avoid it. He wants them to be the best at what they do, and this often causes him to set unreasonable expectations.
After the death of his son Zarinn Klaedris, Alibor gained serious anger management issues, driving away his children Kilfras Klaedris, Caerbor Klaedris, Hinfyire Klaedris, and even Thaiva Klaedris.
His downfall began when he ordered his son Zarinn Klaedris into Forsania to serve as a diplomatic escort. Zarinn died, and Alibor proceeded to lose his gods-damned mind. He became abusive, and nearly killed his own daughter Thaiva Klaedris during a particularly violent outburst. In time, however, his children thrived in spite of Alibor's failings. It took him far too many years to truly apologize to his family, instead putting himself and the honor of his house above everything else. He held this stance even after the rebellion against king Ectraph Acdri, changing it only when he became terminally ill over a year later.

The two did not marry for love, but eventually managed to find it on their own terms regardless.
