The Western Garrison

When the Dragon gave chase to those fleeing, the doors to Lenayn were open.  The Elves braced, readying themselves to fight and to die to defend those that needed the help.

"The Western Garrison" is a bit of a misnomer.  It is both North and West of the majority of Lenayn.  But the path down from the Garrison does move West, so the name has stuck, even after the Wasting.
Most Veraxians of adult age choose to perfect their martial prowess and dedicate years of their lives at the Garrison.  Many die there during the numerous defenses against the strange creatures that attempt to infiltrate Lenayn.  Others move from the Garrison into Lenayn to search for those that might have succeeded.
They are, in fact, the only reason that the majority of Lenayn believes the danger of Corruption long past.
Those at the Garrison know the danger is not gone.  They face it, regularly, and often die to protect those within Lenayn.  Some view the Garrison as a death sentence - and others as a chance at regaining their home.
What it is... depends on the views of those considering it.
