Elenwen, Lady of Life
In the beginning, there was only the chaos of creation.
There in the Darkness lay we huddled beasts,
alone and lost, uncivilized and close to death.
From the ground beneath us and the heavens above
came the gentle hands of the Lady.
From her benevolence we begot speech.
From her grace we begot magic.
From her lips we obtained her grace and Law.
The Law of Elenwen, Lady of Life and Nature
By Grace you are granted Compassion, and so with Grace must you grant it.
By Compassion you have been shown Kindness, and so with that Compassion must you give Kindness.
By my breath you have been granted Life, and so you must Protect Life where you have power to do so.
By my Will you have been granted Knowledge, and so with Knowledge you must guard my lands.
In life there must be Death, and in Death comes Life. Balance in all things.
Elenwen is the Goddess of Life and Nature, the Goddess that the Elves of Lenayn worship and follow above all others. While they will acknowledge the existence and powers of other beings, Elenwen is who they turn to. In the world of Prijeba, as far as the Elves are concerned, her Wisdom is the most important. And to them, they are right. In the earliest memories of their Elders, they recall a world that sought to kill them with every breath. It was Elenwen who shaped the Chaos of a newly-born Prijeba into a world where the Elves could thrive. It was Elenwen who taught them how to not only survive in this world, but how to strive for balance within it in order to not bring about their own doom. They also believe that it is due to Elenwen's Grace and Might that they were left unassaulted by Nephraedis and his Dragon, Oilleg. As neither the Dragon nor the Demon King refute this, they continue to believe that with Faith and Adherence to the Laws, Lenayn will continue to be safe from the Evils of the Demon King and his minions.
