The Skylands of Eryaetos (ear-ee-eh-tow-ss)
INTRODUCTION
The Skylands of Eryaetos, also known as Strestos (stress-toss), are the floating islands in the heavens above the continent of Eryaetos. The lands are mystical and magical, containing the seven crystals of fyre, where a legendary group of deities known as 'The Bris' draw their power. The deities are worshipped and revered, even in the lands below, but are not without their enemies. Most of the tension and wars in Strestos is between The Bris and their mortal enemies, Recognites, a fire-born creature drawing power from the corrupted crystal of fyre, spawning in the westmost isle.
GEOGRAPHICAL ELEMENTS
Strestos contains a unique gravitational element, known as 'Jlorne' (lor-nahi). The rules of physics completely flip once you reach the cloud-line, known as the 'llufeline' (loof-len). Gravitational force falls to 0 m/s/s and right on the llufeline everything floats and is weightless. However, the extreme force of the above negative gravity in Strestos, commonly referred to as Ge^2 by scientists, combined with the regular gravitional force below the line, 9.81 m/s/s, pulls anything crossing llufeline in two different directions, ripping it in half. This theory of jlorne is the reason why the Bris and Recognite of Strestos can never be reached by the mortals of Eryaetos. Jlorne protects the skylands from the earthlands.

THE BRIS OF STRESTOS
The main religion of the Skylands surrounds a group of mysterious deities, called 'The Bris'. They are a faction of valkyrie that managed to cross the llufeline and live among the islands, wielding an ancient power they received from the god Loscinder during the titan age of the second period. After walking among the six islands, The Bris established seven lightpost towers, and endowed their magic powers into a field of crystals surrounding each one. Their powers sustain life in the negative gravity field, and keep all life sustained without pulling itself apart. After the surfacing of the Recongites in Dahrksey, and the fall of the seventh tower, The Bris largely kept to themselves in Strisx, and left the strange creatures and inhabitants of Strestos to themselves. Several merciful have visited the islands, but for the most part, The Bris and Recognites are left for themselves. Some word of the valkyrin deities has reached Eryaetos, and so there are different cults who worship them, making the science needed to reach the Skylands even more coveted among the larger empires. It was not until the late eighty-first century that any mortal reached the floating islands.
