Estophism (S-tow-fizz-em)
INTRODUCTION
Estophism is the classical Arvenon belief of the afterlife, a dim and twisted version of reality. Estophism is not entirely an anceint belief, but there are traces of it in the pre-alchemy time in Southern Abeon and Western Eryaetos. The core tenets demand worship and daily practice of the rites of salvation to ensure an eternity with the goddess of light, Ilfeila.
PRACTICES
Estophism is a rigorous religion, and not for the faint of faith. True believers must daily practice the eight tenets of Estophia:
Daily Fasting of 8 Hours
Bi-daily worship at the nearest altar of Orfolo or Ilfeila
Weekly sacrifice of the best produce or incense at a temple.
Bi-weekly annointing of an household image of one or both of the dieties
Monthly- one day of no food or water to prove continued faith
Yearly pilgramage to The Great Temple in The Deep, where Estophism was 'revealed'
Once in a lifetime must dedicate a year to priestly duties in one of the temples
Die in defense of Estophism, and seek to spread the light of Ifeila.
