Ashmin

(a.k.a. Legendary Hunter)

INTRODUCTION

Anywhere in North Eastern Abeon, tales of a folk legend will eventually reach the ears of every traveler: the legendary 'Ashmin'. Very little is known about this warrior, except that he was once human, sometime, long past. Many believe he is the reincarnation of folk hero, Claxton Pollard, but these reports remain unconfirmed and wild myths.

THE MYTH

A longtime historian and scribe, well respected in Adorea, once wrote down the urban legend of Ashmin during the later years of the Golden Age of Fondalar, around 4755 5p.

THE LEGEND OF ASHMIN

In the year 4666, rumors began circulating of a shadowy warrior, who hunted down and killed the royals of Fondalar by night. Patrols went missing, captains and officers disappeared. As the patterns emerged, Lord Johnathon Dolion, our ruler at Adorea, summoned a council of his Captains and discovered that only those who had fought in the Archian Rebellion had been killed by this raider. Many suspected him to be nothing more than urban legend, but nonetheless, soldiers and leaders continued to disappear. None alive have spoken to him, but many have claimed to see his presence in their town. There are many different versions of the one who became known as "Ashmin", or 'Ash-man', but the most common description is that he is a tall and slender man, dressed in ash-grey armor and torn cloaks, wielding a powerful greatsword with a spiked crossguard. Several versions of the story say he has a pair of wild panthers from the Daines Mountains tamed and under his beck and call, but stories differ. Nonetheless, this legend remains unconfirmed and active to this day in Adorea Province. Many of the common folk fear it, but the Lords have grown accustomed and even indifferent to its name. Whether for better, or worse.
