Technological achievementIn the span of five years, several Nations and peoples developed methods to (somewhat) safely and reliably cross the ocean. It is difficult to say who was first, but the methods are as varied as the cultures who created them.
The state marine research academy in Abrekuza developed the process to bind water elementals to ships, the Grippli of the Toppaggog Swamps worked with merchants in Tsok Sha to create ships that allowed them to use their traditional navigation methods on open ocean, and in Southern Nipoena, architectural advancements applied to shipbuilding allows for extremely sturdy ships that can weather the ocean storms.
While magical means have been an option for hundreds of years, this was not a feasible option for most purposes: it requires very powerful items or individuals, it is expensive, and it is limited to very small numbers of people and cargo. -
