Lampurrn
Basic Information
Anatomy
A four legged small beast. Usually covered in short dark fur. They noticably have one eye in the center of their face instead of two, which most creatures have.
Genetics and Reproduction
Lampurrn are small mammals with a gestation period of about 9 weeks. Each litter often have anywhere between 2-6 kittens.
Growth Rate & Stages
Lampurrn kittens do not have bioluminescence when they are young, this unique feature developes later in life.
Ecology and Habitats
Lampurrn are a very adaptive species found in a variety of habitats. Forests, Fields, Swamps, Caves, Human Settlments and many other places. They build dens on forest floors, within trees, in empty burrows and in naturally forming caverns within rock.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Carnivorous, with slight varation in non meat diet.
They hunt small mammals, bugs, and occationaly have been seen eating leaves and stems of plants.
Biological Cycle
In the winter, Lampurrn will go into hybernation in northern regions. Lampurrn that have made their homes with humans or in human settlments often don't hibernate or spend the entire season hibernating.
Behaviour
It is often very skitish, and quick to run if approached.

Social Structure
They live in colonies of at least four and can be seen in groups of up to 25.
Domestication
Lampurrn have barely changed since domestication. The process was mostly passive.

They were domesticated by humans and oddcrura for their natural sources of light, and pest control.
Average Intelligence
Quick problem solvers, can be taught tricks and directed, but often doesn't respond with out motivation.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
They have very sensitive hearing, relying heavily on their sense of hearing to percieve the space around them. Their single eye means they have poor depth perception and use sound to distinguish distance.
Their most notable feature is their bioluminescence.
