Unchecked medical advances, dubious experimentation, and a lot of money. These are the ingredients that led to the worst disaster in human history. Originally designed as an organism that would extend a person's life beyond what was possible, but when you're running too fast and not looking ahead, then you're probably going to trip. Organism L, or as it is now known by those who survived, The Growth has taken over almost 65% of all of Earth's landmass, billions died during the initial stages as those who were taken by the hellish tide were turned into creatures who looked like they came out of David Cronenberg's worst nightmares.
The Detroit Mega City, one of the last bastions of human life in North America is living proof that no matter how awful everything has gotten, people will still try to make a buck.
