Senot Ayla
Senot Ayla is best known for being one of the most picturesque cenotes in Lient'roc. It helps that it is only 120' off the trail to Senot Tik. It is by far the most common place for Continentals to visit if they go on a hiking trip with a Chelu-kaan guide.
Description
The cenote has a wide opening that leads into a large cave with two bodies of water to the east and west. The entrance is a terraced stone ramp, clearly intentionally made but with care so that one might almost think the stairs were formed naturally. About 100 feet down the ramp, the overhang of the cave begins. Just behind this point, where it would be protected from the elements, a large stone basin with an undercut lip sits. Inside is an immaculately depicted miniature version of the cenote you stand in. The diorama is populated by tiny geonids, small earth elementals resembling hermit crabs with fist-sized rocks on their backs. They are initially startled when approached and hide beneath their “shells”, bright jewel-toned eyes peeking out from the shadow of their homes. After feeling assured they are in no danger, they resume their normal life, which consists of maintaining the stone structures in their “cage”. They can get out, but rarely do they want to.
