Bentholm
Triton settlement located ~40 miles offshore of Port Shimmerly, completely underwater (~500 ft) near the continental shelf.
Fairy insular. Less xenophobic than the Chelu-kaan, but more haughty. The Bentholmi are a proud population, believing themselves to be tasked with the extermination of Kraken and protecting the land dwellers from the horrors of the deep. As such, they hold themselves to the highest moral standing according to their own systems and typically find land dweller customs barbaric. They have no love for the land, but see it as their holy duty to patrol and police the ocean. Compared to other Triton communities, Bentholmi are more unyielding than most. To break out from the social order is anathema and grounds for expulsion, which is considered to be their worst form of punishment.
A highly regimented group of fighters called Argonauts hold the highest rank. Becoming an Argonaut typically requires either noble blood (that is, other Argonauts in your line) or some feat of great valor.
The Aurami clan is the foremost family in the settlement.
