1.20: The Depths of Lient'roc
General Summary
The party ventured into the cavern system of Lient'roc, traveling first through a massive gorge with glittering crystals and a wide fast-flowing river past a very cute gaggle of cave bear cubs. Following a tributary, they descended a relatively narrow tunnel until encountering a room full of writhing orange-yellow roots -- the roots of Gohl-Dana. While the roots posed no danger, they did test the mettle of the adventurers.
Next, they passed through a room full of glowing blue and purple crystals nursing crystal golems in various stages of formation. Seeing runes invoking transmutation and conjuration, they determined the golems could be controlled by their maker but were not inherently dangerous.
After passing through a mini-"squeeze", the group found themselves at the surface of a sump -- an underground underwater passage. Coris ritually cast Comprehend Languages and Tristian ritually cast a spell to allow free communication, each lasting one hour.
As they passed through the 30-feet-deep and 15-feet-wide underwater tunnel, they began to notice statues on the floor of the passage. A few attempts to surface were made to no avail. Eventually, Cheni saw the solid rock of the end of the passage -- and Sultana and Tristian (despite both of their disadvantages due to Cave Exhaustion) noticed a Huge yellow-orange serpent enter the water behind them.
