Low-Ring Blockers

The Low-Ring Blockers are a technology developed and tested by the Terracom division, but are not mass produced due to their impractical usage for the faction. The blockers are designed to be worn as mechanical handcuffs, that constantly emit a low-energy negation field blocking the wearer's access to the use of their own magical circuits. This machine effectively prevents a mage from using magic, when properly cuffed.


Because Terracom is not keen on taking many prisoners, the use of this item and its manufacture rate has been relatively low. However, this is one of the technologies that certain Polarian factions managed to steal. With access to the tech available to both factions, it is unknown how effective it may be in war efforts, especially since Terracom soldiers do not typically rely on personal magical abilities to conduct combat.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The cuffs have tiny sphere crystals inside, siphoning their refreshed energy from the Polarium Veil. Using this energy, the cuffs block internal access to the wearer's magical circuits, effectively blocking all of their magical powers. The units work on a low-energy field; meaning they cost a very low amount of energy, and actually generate a field weaker than the Light Lock spell, but this is not known information to either faction.

Significance

Acting as an ordinary pair of handcuffs, the units also generates a negation field on the wearer, blocking their access to all magical powers. It is unknown how strong this negation field is, and what it would take to break free in terms of magical abilities. The cuffs have been compared to a similar Leray ability known as Light Lock.
