The Miasma

The origin of the Miasma is still a mystery even to this day. Records indicate its first appearance dates back as far as typeless people. However, many records of it have been lost to time. The effects of the miasma are still present though it is not as destructive.   The only recent incident involving The Miasma was during the Dragon Wars.

Causes

No one knows where the Miasma came from. Any ancient records of its origin are unavailable.

Hosts & Carriers

Feral Pokemon are products of miasma. It is said that it courses through their body, and many researchers believe this is why they are so aggressive and territorial. Once they are slain though, the miasma within them dies out as well. This is why it is safe to eat and use parts off of Feral Pokemon without any negative side effects.

History

Ancient texts and stories passed down from generation to generation are the only glimpses into the disaster that was The Miasma. Described it as a sickly, dark red mist that crawled across the land. It seemed to devour all that was unfortunate enough to be caught in its strangling grasp. Humans who came into contact with it died. Pokemon either fell with them or were transformed into large, hulking beasts that could traverse through the Miasma and walk alongside death.     Presently, The Miasma is more of a mist that occasionally collects then wafts across the land that is easily dealt with. Pokemon and on rare occasions humans still do fall ill from it but the damage isn’t as fatal.
