LeShay were incredibly powerful magical beings. They could charm people with only a look, form weapons from their thoughts, shapeshift, turn invisible, teleport, breathe underwater, and understand any language within moments of hearing it.

Episti LeShay saw the young races as a scientific experiment and thus did not recognize them as sentient species. Skota LeShay believed themselves to be gods and demanded that the young races worship them. Kalos LeShay took it upon themselves to offer guidance to the young races, helping the to reach their full potential.

History

LeShay were not always the all powerful immortals that they are today; in fact, they started off as elves. The Ancient Elves were an empire of conquerors who believed themselves superior to other races. Over time they discovered the means to become immortal. Most of these elves did not survive the transition, but those who did became an allpowerful, godlike race. With these powers, they waged war on the gods themselves, killing all but Nevin and Beth'tilac who watch over Chult. Very few survived this war, and those who did were split between those who wanted to rule over the humans as gods and those who wanted to start fresh and rebuild the world they had destroyed.
LeShay are believed to be the creator race of all species native to Rhaegios. Known to humans as "giants," they split off from the rest of their kind when the gods declared war on them, leaving Roma and heading to an undiscovered continent now known as Rhaegios. They found the land populated by all manner of beasts, but nothing intelligent save for dragons, so they took it upon themselves to populate the continent. Taking inspiration from the mighty dragons that were so common at the time, they made all manner of dragonborn. Next they created the dwarves, sturdy and rough like the rocks from which they carve their homes. Finally they created the eladrin, known today as ancient elves, to balance out the roughness of the others with their grace and poise.
Eventually there came to be a rift in the LeShay. Some of them believed that their powers made them gods and they should be worshiped as such; some believed in a hands off approach in dealing with the races they had created, preferring to watch from a distance and offer guidance only when necessary; while still others saw these young races as nothing more than an interesting experiment, something to be studied and toyed with and ultimately expendable. The latter group of LeShay, known as Episti LeShay, broke off from the rest and created the island Nissos and the gnomes who live there, then disappeared. The other two groups, known as Skota and Kalos LeShay respectively, broke into war, ending in stalemate when only 5 remained alive. Iwrasil secluded himself in the Eremus Wastelands, where now he rules over Osalin; Zydos is thought to have gone to the Underdark; while Ulheia disappeared somewhere in the northern lands of Rhaegios; Oberron and Titania left to explore the Feywilds, where they have created all manner of creatures and now rule over the Seelie and Unseelie courts of Sidhe.
