Beshaba

Misfortune

The goddess of bad luck. While people may pray to Tymora for good fortune, Beshaba is the goddess prayed to when someone is specifically trying to avoid a bad outcome. Ironically, those who are down on their luck or in an unfortunate position are the ones who most often pray to Beshaba, simply hoping that their situation does not become worse. Priests to Beshaba are few and far between, usually those who have experienced great misfortune in their life and hope that their service will appease the goddess and ease their troubles. Shrines are more common but are not a happy sight. Shrines or symbols of Beshaba are used to indicate that something terrible had happened at that location such as a murder or serious accident, it is considered an insult to the goddess when the shrines or symbols are removed and may incur her wrath. Other dangerous locations such as treacherous roads are likely to have these markings.

Gaining Favor

Increase your favor with Beshaba by spreading her influence or honoring her through acts such as:

• Tricking others and causing them misfortune
• Suffering misfortune yourself
• Marking Beshaba's symbol where accidents have occurred

You may lose favor with Beshaba if you cause her influence to diminish or dishonor her name in ways like:

• Saving others from the effects of traps
• Experiencing good luck such as winning at gambling
• Destroying shrines/markings of Beshaba

You gain proficiency with one of the following skills: Acrobatics, Deception, Stealth, Survival.
Disciple
Favor 10+
When you force an enemy to make a Dexterity saving throw, you may make them roll a second D20 and take the lower result. You may use this ability after the roll but before the outcome is determined. This ability can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and all expended uses reset per day.
Devoted
Favor 25+
The previous blessing may now be applied to all saving throws.
Champion
Favor 50+
You can increase your Dexterity or Charisma score by 2 and also increase your maximum for that score by 2.
