South Carolina

Although the colony of Carolina was only one state until 1729, still colonists named the two regions North Carolina and South Carolina. The official separation would come later. South Carolina got an official governor in 1710.
Charles Town, the capital, was vunrable to pirate attacks due to it's proximity to the coast.

Yamasee War

(1715-1717) was a conflict between British settlers of colonial South Carolina and various Native American tribes, including the Yamasee, Muscogee, Cherokee, Catawba, Apalachee, Apalachicola, Yuchi, Savannah River Shawnee, Congaree, Waxhaw, Pee Dee, Cape Fear, Cheraw, and others. Some of the Native American Indian groups played a minor role while others launched attacks throughout South Carolina in an attempt to destroy the colony.
