Starfinder Campaign Recap
The Rat Pack Rises
In the sprawling underlevels of Absalom Station, in a scrapyard slum known as Botscrap, three Ysoki—Boxtop, Pogo, and Jack—forged a bond stronger than blood. In a place where no rat truly knew their parents or siblings, they found family in each other. At the heart of their surrogate clan stood Big Mama—a warm, southern-accented beacon of stability who took in wayward Ysoki and raised them with tough love, warm food, and a dream of something more.
That dream first took shape in the Zero-G Cheeseball League, where the trio, known as The Rat Pack, clawed their way to the championship. But victory was short-lived. Their rival team, Quantum, led by the conniving coach and corporate shill Mott "DB" Dustbag, launched a smear campaign to have their title stripped. Backed by infamous xenophobic journalist Henry P. Weenie, and compounded by assault accusations from the star player Jacque Jaem’z, the Rat Pack’s future looked bleak.
But the truth clawed its way out. Jacque recanted when he realized he never actually saw his attacker. The Rat Pack exposed DB’s sabotage, cornered him, and handed him over to station security. With their name cleared—and a hefty stash of credits from underground cheeseball bets facilitated by the enigmatic Mr. Horse—the trio finally had the funds to follow in Big Mama’s footsteps and join the Starfinder Society.
Assigned to deliver cargo to the frontier planet Nakondis, the Rat Pack was dealt an infuriating twist: DB Dustbag had pulled strings and been reinstated—as their mission captain. Tensions simmered aboard the Loreseeker, but duty called.
Arriving on Nakondis, the brothers found the research outpost in chaos. The Azlanti Empire—xenophobic, brutal, and technologically advanced—had invaded. They were after a mysterious artifact, rumored to hold the power to revolutionize space travel. The Rat Pack fought back, aided the local resistance, and drove the invaders off-world… but not without cost. In the retreat, Big Mama was captured, dragged off by the ruthless commander Zoltan and taken to the dreaded prison moon Gulta.
What followed was a harrowing journey across wild space. Evading Azlanti patrols, battling through vicious crablike mutants at Outpost Zed, and donning disguises to infiltrate enemy territory, the Rat Pack managed the impossible: they found Big Mama. Half-dead but unbroken, she was freed in a blaze of blaster fire and improvised explosives. The escape left Azlanti systems in shambles and Zoltan humiliated.
But vengeance burns hot in the Azlanti heart. Enraged and embarrassed, Zoltan swore death upon the Rat Pack, hiring a mysterious shapeshifter assassin to eliminate them.
Now, the journey continues.
The Rat Pack is en route to Aurelos—the cursed facility where Big Mama was tortured and where she believes Zoltan now guards the artifact at the center of this galactic struggle: the Rune Drive. The stakes have never been higher. The enemy knows their faces. The Empire wants them dead.
And the Rat Pack? They’re ready to gnaw their way through anything that stands in their path.
