Neverland Park

Neverland Park is the unofficial name for a homeless settlement within the Barrie Heights housing project. The 20-story building was left abandoned back in the late 90s, but recently became home to groups of homeless and runaway children. The settlement was founded by a group of superpowered teenagers known as the Lost Boys, and they've taken it upon themselves to make sure all the children in Neverland Park are safe and taken care of.

Demographics

The majority of Neverland Park's inhabitants are children and teenagers under the age of 18. They all come from a wide variety of racial and socioeconomic backgrounds. In addition, an almost disproportionate number of kids who tend to make a home there have superpowers in some capacity. One thing they all have in common, however, is the fact that they all came to Neverland Park with nowhere else to call home.

Government

Being the oldest inhabitants of Neverland Park, in terms of both age and duration of stay, the Lost Boys act as the de facto leaders of the community. They are responsible for maintaining the building, making sure there are enough food and supplies for everyone, obtaining goods for the community (i.e. stealing them), keeping the settlement's existence a secret from outsiders, and generally making sure all the kids are happy and well cared for.

Defences

Neverland Park's main defense comes from the fact that a large chunk of the population has superpowers, including the Lost Boys. The Lost Boys prefer to do any and all fighting themselves so as not to get the younger residents caught up or hurt in struggles.

Industry & Trade

Because of both the secretive nature of the settlement and the fact that the vast majority of the residents aren't even old enough to have a job, the Neverlanders have to resort to stealing most of the supplies they need to get by from the outside world. This task is mostly left to the Lost Boys, but occasionally residents with a history of stealing to support themselves will aid them. Supplies stolen range from necessities like food, clothing, and medicine; to fun things like toys, books, and video games.

Infrastructure

Very few outsiders have ever seen what the inside of Neverland Park actually looks like. The residents are extremely tight-lipped about the details, but many have let slip that it is supposedly "one of the coolest places to live in the history of forever!"

History

It's unknown when exactly Barrie Heights became home to Neverland Park, but it's theorized it was established fairly recently, sometime between 2014 and 2015.
