General Summary

Umbraday 25/05/2345

The Lair of the Machine Lord

M says they should tie up ML, B says they should cut his hands off, M says he could still run and B says he’ll cut his feet off
M asks if he’s going to stop him from bleeding out, B says he could, M says they should just start by tying him up
B says fine and ties him to the chair
M asks the group what kind of questions they want to ask him, says she could use detect thoughts, but it would mean she wouldn’t have as much magic available to her later
B says they should try the usual methods of intimidation first before they go using spells
M asks what they want to know and what is the order of priority the group sit down and come up with the following questions:
1. How do they undo what he did to the man
2. Where is Varik?
3. What is going on with the blood
4. Who are the other Lords working with Varik and what should they know about them
5. What else is being done with the people taken prisoner
K steps aside and looks about the room getting odd sense now she's in it, feels a lingering magical aura that feels very wrong (arcana 15)
M looks up at blood dripping from the ceiling and gets a similar feeling, there’s too much of what appears to be or what it blood, but energy is strong, makes eye contact with K as they both feel it, neither can get any particular sense of a school of magic but it seems to be coming down from the ceiling (arcana 16)
Everyone else doesn’t get any inkling of what is going on (arcana B & G 6, Derek 2)
M tries to figure out where they are in regard to the town and thinks they’re back under the town centre roughly (intelligence 8)
M shares with the rest of the group the feeling she’s getting, and K also corroborates
Etching on back wall, no other way out
Must have pulled the wife and husband from where the prisoners are being kept and through the sewers to here
G feels like this isn’t something the troglodytes would make, looks at the stone, seems like it wasn’t traditionally cut, almost like it was cut through with magic, to clean of a cut, M sees her investigating the stone and uses Auspicious Warning to show her where to look (history 14+2)
G also notices something that looks like a hand briefly float to the surface of the blood pool and calls it out
M tells everyone to stand back and gets Breezy Mirage out, casting gust into the pool of blood, clearing it out abut also covering her and everything around her in blood
blood pool filled with metallic bodies that look like the man they saw be transformed
M tries to clean the blood off of herself with prestidigitation, but the blood is unaffected, she shakes off a panic attack (wisdom save nat 20 for 22 total) and gets her waterskin out and starts trying to get the blood off that way
M calls B over and asks if George can make anything of the bodies, George hears this and starts highlighting bodies for B, stating he believes there’s at least 31 bodies in there
They get the impression that these bots had served their purpose and were instructed to walk into the blood pool once they were no longer of use
Some of them are in a couple of pieces, some have some wear and tear from combat and the like, but what ended them was falling in
M continues to try clean herself off and says “Well, this is grim”
The pit is about 12-14 feet deep
M remembers the glob of blood that fell from the ceiling earlier and intuits that it was from another body being drained of its blood by the flowers, B says it rules out his theory that the bots were blood harvesters and says “Evil guy 101, never put all your eggs in one weird basket”
M has a look over the bots and sees they all have memory shards but unlike the nightmare conduit they seem to be full
B notices it looks like a blackthorn guard, Juno and Junko seems like modified adventurers, probably from the guild (Perception B nat 20for 19 total, G 13, M 11, K 10)
M investigates Jimbot, peeling back a panel to reveal the memory shard and reaches for it (Intelligence sav 4)
M finds herself in a memory, running along a creek with a stick in hand and a young girl chasing behind and feels her cheeks flush, before being suddenly pulled from that memory where she finders herself sitting in a hovel with the same girl but as an adult and a kid running around, woman says Jim doesn’t have to work for them, Jim replies that they pay the best out of anyone in town before she is pulled into another scene, standing outside the room they just fought in and the Machine Lord calling in people one at a time, the guy in front says “they just took Claire in. I’m going to be next. You nervous Jim?” Jim shakes his head and says “I’m not so sure Tom, Aubrey went in a while ago and she hasn’t come back yet” Tom says it’s going to be fine and not to worry and M is suddenly back in her own body
M sits down on the floor
Banso is leaning over the pit pulling out what he can to see if he can find any loot
B rifles through MLs pockets, finding a few loose nuts and bolts, 4 tablet looking devices that need a password to activate and a handful of receivers switches that seem to connect to the remains of the machine in the centre of the room, he takes 2 of each with the intent of showing them to Zaolu later
The tablets seem to have a space for a memory crystal in the back
M pockets the memory shard and says “Yeah, these were people, Jim had a kid... I don’t know if there’s anything we can do with the memory shards. Seems to be his whole life, but maybe there’s something that can be saved?” B says there’s only one way to find out
They go over all their questions and add the memory shards to the list of things to ask about

Interrogation time

M sits on his lap with her dagger to his neck B takes his glove of and back hands him awake, M says “Good morning sleepy head”
ML says “Ah, so you didn’t kill me?” M says not yet then uses message to tell B that if they’re going to kill him, they should do so outside of town, B says he was going to liquify him and it’s hard to get blood out of acid, M says “Touche”
M says they have some questions, he says he figured they would as he struggles against the restraints
M says they have ways of making him answer, he rolls his eyes and M says “Or you could just make this easier for all of us and answer our questions” ML says “Okay, I choose that, I’ll answer your questions, but I don’t think you’re going to like the answers” and grins
M says it doesn’t matter if they don’t like them as long as they’re the truth
ML says, “Cross my heart and hope to die” M places her dagger against his chest and says, “That could be arranged” and feels a slight tink as if there’s some kind of metal armour under his shirt
M, fuelled by a subconscious and naive hope believes him 100% but feels an anxious ache in her chest for reasons she can’t explain (insight nat1, total of six)
G and B have no idea, but K and Derek can tell he is in fact being completely truthful (insight K 20, Derek 19, G 4, B 3)
ML squirms and K taunts him, asking if his bonds are a little tight, he growls in return
B firmly brands the back of his head
M asks what his name is, he says “Yes, you are speaking to the genius Tibor Noviko” M says she assumes he already knows who they are, he says, “Ah yes, the intrepid heroes” and squirms again
B starts wheeling the chair towards the pit, taking M along for the ride, B thinks he’s doing a really good job of intimidating him
M says it’s quite the body of work he has, Tibor says they should see the other towns he’s been to, M says they’ve heard tale and recalls what Zalthea said, then asks if there is a way to undo it, He laughs and says “You want to undo it?” M says one could assume that, he laughs again and says “You idiots! You broke the thing that fixes them. I mean, I have another. I could fix this one, but you’d have to leave me alone” M says “Not likely”
B has a look over the machine and comes to the conclusion that with Zaolu’s guidance and a couple of days he is probably capable of fixing it himself (intelligence 21)
B laughs quietly and says, “Your little toy is not that complicated” Tibor says, “We’ll see”, M says he won’t and he says “You say that”
M tries to think if the other one he could be referring to is the machine Banso and his crew and described being in the location they were stationed at but doesn’t know enough to make that assumption
M asks about the other one and what its purpose is, Tibor says Lunae requested a contraption, says Lunae has a particular way of using her magic, M interrupts him to say “Had. I hear she’s compost these days” Tibor says he wishes he could have gotten his hands on her, then continues saying she left some instructions to create a system that “utilised batteries to create soldiers”
K says “Almost making it sounds like she was the brains behind the operation and not you”
Tibor says, “When I was let in on this project, it was the most interesting thing I had ever heard of.” M says she hopes it’s worth dying for
M then asks where they would find Varik, saying they heard his body has been brough into town the previous day.
Tibor says “Oh, you guys learn fast. Well, you’re correct, he has returned, but for whatever reason he’s staying in his vessel”
M asks where his body is being kept, Tibor says it’s in the other space that looks a lot like this one. M says she assumes it’s the one where the other contraption and the prisoners are being kept, Tibor says that is correct
M says that was their next stop
Tibor says “You won’t like what Verrus has done to the vessel” M says she’s under the impression that they won’t like anything being done here
B feels what seems like some metal plates or bolts incorporated into Tibor’s skull, but his head is primarily flesh and bone, some additions have been made
M says “So, the blood flowers, they drain the blood?” Tibor says “Something like that”
M says “What happens with it? What’s it purpose here? I assume it’s something to do with Lunae and the circle that seems to be around the town?”
Tibor says, “You sure know quite a lot, you bunch of...” he trails off and K says, “You want to finish that sentence?” M invites him to continue
Tibor says this room is the excess chamber
Tibor asks if they’re done with the questions and if they can kill him now, M says they have a few more and he seems disappointed
M asks about the blood magic and the blood circle around town, saying there seems to be multiple phases of it and what else is going on with it
Tibor says there was a book connected to it, that he assumes they have now, M pats him on the cheek and says, ”Clever boy”
Tibor says he didn’t have all of the blueprints, but he did employ some of them
He also says there was one really strong one Nekros/Varik was hoping to get his hands on, M says Lunae fused herself with it and now it’s compost in the forest, Tibor says that’s a shame as he would have loved to roboticized it
M says Zalthea told them of two other “lords”, The Stone Lord and the toxin lord, Tibor says the toxin lord didn’t actually show but he sent Verrus as a representative and adds that he thinks Verrus is a dick
B says that he said Verrus did something to “the vessel” and asks what exactly did he do
Tibor says the toxin lord left some “special things” to test on Nekros’s body and he thinks they turned out pretty good
K asks, “good for whom?” and Tibor says “Not for you”
M says “Would that have anything to with the purple swirling stuff that came out of his body when I stabbed him, or is that just Skurth’s influence”
Tibor seems to waiver for the first time and simply says “Well you might be on the money there, dear”
M asks if he knows the toxin lord’s name, Tibor says he doesn’t, but he’s heard he’s some rich noble, M asks if he knows where he’s from and Tibor says he doesn’t know and doesn’t care
B asks what the stone lords name is and Tibor says he is Jian
M asks where Jian is and Tibor says “He’s here. Not in this room obviously”
K asks if he’s somewhere in the underground and Tibor says “Yeah, most likely protecting the other machines. All set to pump out, what was it? Clowns and other creatures of sorts that they have data on. I heard you had fun with one. I wonder how you would do once the machine got going and had to deal with 10 or 20 of them”
B says given that his little toys weren’t too interesting to play with he’s not worried
Tibor says it’s a shame he won’t be around to see them fight, M says “Your suffering is truly too great to bear” mockingly
B can sense something is off, he’s telling the truth, but he seems too casual about dying and no one should be this forthcoming with information and gets the impression that he has some kind of backdoor set up to escape death. Even getting the impression that he could upload his consciousness to something like what happens with people are turned into robots and their memories are uploaded into memory shards (insight nat 20, 19 total, Derek 16, M 15, K 12, G 11)
B lets out an angry sigh and Tibor says, “Squeeze a little harder sweetheart, please” B says he’s taking all the fun out of it
M says they still have cells available at The Radiant Hall, but they might have to send some people on to Ravenswood rest
B says he’s still going to rip his arms off, Tibor says “Oh, you could do that, but tick tock, tick tock”
M asks what else is being done with the prisoners, Tibor says “While you waste time with me, they’re being processed”
B starts dragging the chair towards the door, taking the interrogation on the move
Tibor says “Well, if you rip off my arms and my legs and my nose and all of those things, you’ll never know how to get your friend back”
M says, “Well you said it yourself, we’re pretty clever” He replies “Oh, good luck then”
M asks about the memory shards, saying she’s a little familiar with them and she’s curious how an empty one comes into being
B gets to the door as Tibor asks what she wants to know, and why she cares
M asks if he’s the one that removed S’s memory, do you know about that? The little Fairy, very cute”
Tibor says I’m intrigued. She dingle?” M says “I don’t think you’re her type, you’re a bit short” Tibor says he can make it work and B adds that he’s about to be a lot shorter and he wheels them into the tunnels
M says she’s wondering if they should get Banso and Elira to take him and the husband to the hall so they can keep moving
B lets out a resigned sigh knowing that’s the better choice but says once they’re at the surface, he’s going to incapacitate him
Tibor says, “Wait seriously, you’re not going to ask more about the friend I was talking about?” M says they still have time to talk before they get to the surface
Tibor says “You had a friend right, she was a tall Elf, fairy? Not sure. She had her wings ripped off”
M says that she assumed that was who he was talking about, Tibor adds that she was very interesting and that she didn’t like being in the machine very much, stating that something was “wrong with her core” and that it wasn’t until later that he was told she was “one of you lot”
He gets really smug and says it did something very interesting. M says she’s looking forward to ruining all of his hard work
Tibor says “Are you ready to fight her? I rebuilt her wings, you know?” M doesn’t say a word and finally gets off of his lap, “accidentally” nicking him with her dagger
He says “What, nothing to say? Maybe I’m not worth it” and starts to struggle against B’s grip
Tibor giggles and tells M “You should have drove it a little deeper sweetheart”
B starts wondering how much he’d have to heal him to be able to rip his limbs off without killing him, then starts talking about how he’s just going to go with his original plans and spew acid on him
Banso whispers to Elira saying, “What the fuck?” and M starts getting visibly uncomfortable with the whole thing and takes a step back, wanting nothing to do with it from this point
M says she’ll be here when he’s done and at that moment Tibor explodes, dealing 4 damage to b (dex save 13)
B is fuming but has a thought and calmly takes out the amulet from Zaolu, opens it and tells M to take out Skylla’s doll so he doesn’t get blood on it, then he takes a chunk of Tibor’s scalp that is still in his hand and puts it in
As he closes it, two points on the compass light up, one pointing to the remains of his body and the other pointing in the opposite direction of where they want to go
M says “Guess we’ve not seen the last of him” as B takes a deep breath

Moving Through the Sewers

A very damaged memory shard falls to the ground and bounces against K’s foot, she picks it up with a bit of cloth and shows it to the group
The shard is black and fractured and smoking, B says he’s pretty sure that’s what just exploded on him
K says she’s curious what the trigger was, if he started a timer, if it was proximity based or if he decided when to set it off, M says she thinks he chose and B and G say they think it was a timer
M takes the memory shard and very carefully adds it to her growing collection
M says she assumes his backup would be somewhere safe for him and not near everything going on here and says they will deal with him later, K says they have a way to track him and M ads that he didn’t bank on that
M takes a moment to clean herself up now that they’re out of the room where the blood seemingly couldn’t be removed with magic
Banso asks G about the friend Tibor mentioned, G pictures J as a robot and gets stuck in her imagination instead of replying
Banso asks what Tibor meant when he said “She’s one of you” asking if she was also a champion of a god, G says she assumes that what he means
M says it’s a good thing they didn’t bring Corvin
The group continue heading towards where they know Varik to be, encountering a few patrols of nightmare conduits on the way and taking them out with little issue
Elira comments that it’s unusual that they don’t have anyone with them, M says they must be running low on personal and Elira says that’s what happens when you use them all as batteries
The group eventually comes across an area that looks similar to where The Machine Lord’s base was set up, but a bit more basic in its design, simply just a wooden door which seems to have a bit that can be opened to look through
B walks up and says he’s pretty sure he knows the password
He knocks on the door and takes 6 lightning damage at it sends a shock through his arm and is pushed back 10 feet (dex save 13+3)
Footsteps can be heard on the other side running towards the door, M quickly walks up to behind the door and puts her hand on The Ash Song while B uses lay on hands on himself
G is in wolf form and waits with M
The slit in the door opens and they hear a voice say “Is that you Banso? What are you doing just standing there, I heard the trap go off”
Elira and Banso blink at each other then looks to the group, M nods at them to play along and Banso says they lost they’re little buddies and asks if he could let them in, the guy behind the door asks if they lost their pass and Banso says the did actually, Elira bats her eyelashes at him and asks if he could do them a solid
The guy says she’s not his type, closes the slit and opens the door, blocking the rest of the group as they guy says they need to hurry up and get inside because he’s not supposed to have the door open too long
Banso walks in, putting his arm around the guy's shoulders and turning him away from the door and thanks him as Elira says she’ll get the door
M uses message to ask Banso if he’s a decent guy, Banso says he is
M sneaks in behind them, G shifts out of wolf form and follows the rest in

Inside the Base

There is a large iron door with a guy sitting on a chair by it looking bored to the right
There is what looks to be a pre-existing reservoir in the center filled with blood to the left
B sees this chamber is considerably bigger than the one they were just in and that didn’t have a pit like this. He also sees splashes of dried blood up on the ceiling and wonders how it got up there (Perception 16)
K sees the blood also, as well as large scratch marks and thinks there must have been a large creature that had been living in this pit that was killed when Varik and his crew moved in (perception 23)
She tries to figure out what kind of creature it was but can only conclude it was large and probably not a natural one (nature 10)
G and M don’t notice shit (both nat 1)
There is also a large door that looks out of place made of sandstone, they all have a look at it but can’t quite make anything of it, apart from G who gets a weird sense from it (intelligence G 12, K 8, Derek, B & M 5)
G tentatively touches the door and feels a weird tugging at her heart and can feel and smell a really hot, dry day and definitely gets the feeling something is very wrong with it, giving her a deep-seated sense of unease as her braces start to feel heavy around her arms (arcana 5, history nat 1 +10)
B uses divine sense and senses Elira beside him as a good celestial entity, doesn’t get anything from beyond the door but gets a strong feeling from behind the metal door
M quickly casts Detect magic and gets a sense of transmutation necromancy, illusion, conjuration from the general area very faint trace of conjuration from the sandstone door and feels like something major is on the other side of it
Banso knocks out the guy who let them in and asks that they not kill them
The metal door is barred from the side they are on, so it seems designed to keep something in rather than out
M walks over to the metal door and the guy by it looks up and asks who she is, B punches him and knocks him out right as M puts a finger to her lips to try and shush him
B puts his ear to the door and hears a thrumming, like a large fan
M asks Banso if they have any other info about that door, they say they only know it’s where prisoners were taken, he also adds that the blood pool wasn’t nearly as full and says it’s where they were conjuring the “little beasts” from
B lifts the bar from the door, deciding to keep it in case he needs to throw it in the future
B starts to open the door and asks if everyone is ready for this, everyone nods
As he pulls the door open, he hears a hiss of air like a seal being broken and everyone feels the air rush in from behind them, indicating the room was kept at negative pressure

Behind the Metal Door

As they head in the see 6 or 7 carved magic circles in the ground and a faucet and channels that seems to draw blood into the circles
M flicks through Lunae’s book and compares the circles, 3 are the same circle and the last one has dried blood in it, indicating it was used recently. She is able to quickly flick through and identify it as The Clown Prince and turns the book to everyone else to show them the page (history 17)
M turns to B and G and asks if either of them have chisels, right as B goes to try and smash the stone with the metal bar from the door, G says she does have chisels and passes them out to the group who quickly carve away bits from the circles so they no longer function and continue on into the next room
G notices a door at the end of the tunnel that is almost her size and hears a mechanical humming from inside
She opens the door and everyone heads in

Finding Jineyih

She looks up at the wall to see a robotic J attached to the wall with hoses and tubes, Giant, metallic and bladed fairy wings behind her and her chest open revealing a space for a memory shard
She’s been given demon horns, her legs end in large elephant-like feet and unlike the other bots they have seen, she is in full colour
The group look over her trying to figure out if there’s a way to safely incapacitate her before she becomes a threat to them that won’t pose any risk to her when it comes to saving her
B and G carefully take her down, disconnecting her from all the tubes causing oil to spill from one which eventually trickles to a stop, but the other one continually pumps out blood (strength G 24, B 17)
B has a better look at her then says he’s going to make a suggestion, and he doesn’t want anyone to be mad at him then says he feels like removing her wings might be the call in this moment, M says they aren’t really hers anyway
B says they could become hers once he repairs the machine and M says she was already wanting to ask B if he could make some kind of wing prosthesis for J and C
B has a closer look at where the wings connect to her body and can see that they were added on after she was transformed and that something about being the champion oof a god made the metal her body became much stronger and adaptive, perhaps even unpredictable
They decide to try and carefully remove the wings, M uses auspicious warning to guide B to where he should look (tinker tools 22 +4)
He finds a good spot to start removing them, noting that if he didn’t find the spot it would be near impossible. As he gets further into it, he notices that the wings have a mechanical bomb built into them
B tells the group this and M says she can maybe help him disarm it, but neither of them have thieves’ tools so it will be harder to do, B tells everyone to get back and he and M carefully look over everything and debate if it’s worth the risk right now
B says because Tibor is still alive, he wouldn’t be surprised if he has some kind of remote detonator
B realises he has two detonators in his pockets that he took from Tibor, (History 14) he goes to smash them and M tells him to wait because they may have a mechanism that sets off the bomb if destroyed so he looks over them first and finds that they are just simple switches and takes them apart
B attempts to reach out to Zaolu but can’t get through (religion nat 1)
He then realises he can probably just snap the wings off without setting off the explosives and calls over G to help and they are able to cleanly snap them off (strength B 20, G18)
They then realise that only the wings are rigged to explode and they dealt with the problem
B has a closer look at them and gets the impression they could fire off the feathery bits as projectile bombs, and then throws them in the blood pit
He has another looks over J to see if there’s any more bombs but doesn’t find anything (investigation 12)
M also has a look but finds nothing else (investigation 9)
M puts a hand on J and quietly says “I’m sorry” and notes that she doesn’t feel the buzzing
Banso walks up to G again and asks if she could feel J in there and G says she felt nothing then asks what she thinks they’re doing with the core, and she says “Nothing good”
Banso furrows his brow and looks shaken in his faith and is feeling a little out of his depth
M looks up at him and says “You and me both, bud”
He looks back to G and asks if she thinks they’ll get through it, G nods and says they’ve got this
M stands up and looks to the group and says, “I think we all know what we’re getting ourselves in for, right?” B is holding J’s hand, remembering the pact he made to C to keep J safe and says he’s in it for the long haul
M says “I just want to take a moment and say; I’m in this, I’m aware of the risk and I appreciate that you’re all here with me. And if it gets too much, there will be no blame or shame from me if you run, but I will defend you all to the best of my ability to the very end”
K says she seconds that and G gives a firm nod
Banso looks reinvigorated but Elira seems to have gone the opposite way and wants to take the way out that has just been offered
B can’t see a way to take robot J out of the fight without potentially harming her, so he looks to Both Elira and Banso and says “I need you to take her some place safe”
M says they can probably keep her in one of the cells in The Radiant Hall
B says “I need you to do this for me. I need to see things through here, but I need her to be safe”
Banso nods, giving him a forearm handshake and says it will be done
M says it will probably take them awhile to carry her there, so she doubts they’ll be rejoining them and says “We’ll see you on the other side”
Banso gives her a wink and gives her bardic inspiration
Elira quickly goes around the group, healing them as much as she can before she and Banso carry out J with the husband bot in tow

The Sandstone Door

B takes the metal bar from the door and moves to throw it at the door, giving everyone a moment to do anything they needs before he does
M decides to touch the door out of curiosity (wisdom save 5)
She feels as though she has been sunburnt all over her skin, feeling extremely hot and dry air all around her but as soon as she takes her hand away the feeling vanish
She steps back, putting her hand on The Ash Song and gives B a nod that she is ready, K and G both also give a nod
B hurls the bar at the door with enough power to skewer 5 soldiers, but it just bounces off, doing no damage (strength 23)
Be looks at the door, knowing how M and G responded to it and decides to just fight through it and pushes the door open, finding no resistance as it opens, feeling the same sensations as a hot wind rushes past him, revealing what appears to be an intense sand storm in the room before them
M tries to use gust to create a sort of barrier around them but can’t seem to muster enough power to do anything (charisma nat 1)
Everyone has to shield their eyes from the sand blowing in their faces, apart from B who has George in helmet mode already shielding his
M shields her face with her cloak and grabs onto B for him to lead the way, signalling for the other to do the same behind her, forming a human(oid) chain
As they walk in K gets a strange heavy feeling in her gut and stumbles for a moment
M doesn’t really seem to notice (11 perception)
B notices something is up with K but can’t make anything further out (investigation 12)
G notices K starting to retch before throwing up a clear glass orb (perception 18)
G picks it up and hands it to K who recognises it as her Fungal Guardian ability that has seemingly been removed from her, the orb then seems to crust over with sand until it looks just like sandstone
As they progress any sign of the room they were in vanishes as the floor turns to sand underneath them and the walls, if any remain are obscured by the sandstorm around them
Eventually a voice can be heard saying “I didn’t think you’d make it this far, but here we are” and they recognise it as Nekros speaking but with a confidence and assertiveness that he didn’t have before
The walls of the chamber around them become visible and they find themselves standing in a very similar chamber as the one Tibor was in
Active red circles can be seen glowing on the floor, on the Dais stands Nekros, with S seemingly suspended magically beside him and his hand reaching into her chest, seemingly the same that that happened when M and Moritha were trying to figure out her memory shard situation
A thudding can be heard on the other side of the door behind him, as if something is trying to get through
They also see a glass chamber, similar the one in Tibor’s machine, but seemingly not attached to anything and Skylla can be seen unconscious inside of it

He looks down with a wide smile and slitted eyes and says “I guess the jig is up”
B cracks his knuckles and says “I’ve had to adjust my plans, I know I promised to bury this sword inside of Nekros, but I guess it’ll have to be you instead”
One of the robed figures approaches him and whispers something in his ear, Nekros responds “We need more? I thought three was enough. Well, I think 7 will do and the robed figures rush towards the group
Nekros pulls out a syringe and starts to inject himself with something toxic looking and says “This is the best vessel I’ve ever been in; you know that? Something about this meagre man’s body, it just wouldn’t decay. It should have died many times over, and you know what? I can’t just get rid of it now”
K says, “More of a man than you’ll ever be” and M gold claps as Nekros’ body seem morph and grow before them
Another figure steps forward extending both hands as sandstone walls rise up around the group, completely encasing K but leaving the others with space above and seemingly a path out
G’s chest starts to hurt, and she clutches her hand to her chest, when she pulls it away, she is holding a glass orb that contains her Lunar Burst ability, which then also covers with sand and becomes solid stone
G and K both feel some kind of connection to the losing of their abilities to whatever is behind the door
M quickly points to where B was standing and uses message to him, saying “Just testing” and is able to discern the walls are less than a foot thick as he spell went through
