General Summary

Genevieve’s

B thinks V is hiding an injury (medicine 8)
B doesn’t notice anything (perception 6)
M notices that someone who i supposed to be there isn’t (perception 14)
K notices that the street outside the window is completely covered in red flowers with Viney tendrils slowly slithering over the surface (perception 19)
G notices that Alastros is missing (perception nat 20, 24 total)
G asks if anyone knows where he is and no one does

Resuming the Conversation with Syyrik and Draekos

M says she thinks she knows who to send to get her father and casts message to T and asks him to join them, he asks why she’s talking to him like that but comes over
M asks if she can get him to do her a huge favour and that she needs someone to go make sure her dad is safe and bring him back here after all this is over, he sticks his hand out to shake and says “Done deal, I feel like I owe you one”
M says she’ll fill him in on the details after they rest but gets the impression that even without details and feeling like he owes her, he would do it (insight 18)
M asks if Draekos could take him in and look after him, he says he can and M says they should regroup with the others and come up with a plan

Finding Alastros

G remembers Alastros has one of the Bands of the Lost and Found and that B has the other, so she asks B to help her find him
The head outside, following the direction the band is pointing and see smoke billowing in the distance that seems to be hitting some sort of semi-permeable barrier that prevents most of the smoke from rising past it, as well as a lot of the flowers and creeping tendrils spreading over any surface they find
They see Alastros running towards them with two unconscious people, one under each arm and he says, “One of you two, catch!” before tossing one of the people towards them
B and G both move to catch the person, bumping into each other, but G managing to catching a teenage boy before they hit the ground (strength save G 19, B 8)
Alastros says he doesn’t know what it was, but he could sense it as he leans the unconscious girl against a wall to catch his breath and adds that the flowers are moving towards them so someone is probably going to have to be on watch over night.
They decide to move the teens inside and discus with everyone else what to do about the flowers

Planning

M says that there are a few among them who only need 4 hours of rest, and looks to Alastros, suggesting that once they’ve rested, they can go out and find out all they can about where they might need to go, best possible routes etc. So, they already have that sorted so when the others wake up, they can just go
Rynette raises a hand and says she has some spells that could help deal with the flowers and doesn’t mind staying up to keep watch as she creates a puff of flame in her hand

The Dollified People

M spends about 10 minutes looking through the dolls, looking for anyone she’s familiar with or who would look to be a capable fighter and recognises someone who matches the description of Penda, the guard Varsinsil and Lianis and Taryth from Silver hourglass, Kelsy from The Jolly Jackalope, the smith from Willersby Forge as well as three of her apprentices, Margarete from The Stockpot Inn, Lazrin from Moon & Sun Appraisals, Joey Swiftarrow and Thalos from The Luminous Tome. She also spots a large Orc man with a pelt hood who looks to be a capable fighter and 7 what can be assume are Dire Cardinals (investigation 21)
B recognises some of the younger girls from the hourglass, Draekos recognises Ribbalt, a cleric from Dawn’s Grace Chapel

Penda

M takes the one she assumes to be Penda, places it on the floor, takes a step back and casts Dispel Magic on it
Penda morphs back into her regular form and is lying on the floor, breathing but unconscious
M gently wakes her a startled ad confused Penda asks where she is, M says she’s at Genevieve’s and that she assumes she is Penda, she clutches at an amulet as she crawls backwards and says, “I am, who are you?”
M says “I’m Micarafae, I believe our friend Lilinara met you” Penda says she did meet her, still confused and looks around before asking where Gen is, M says “She’s petrified downstairs, and I don’t mean scared I mean turned to stone” (persuasion 13)
Penda says that doesn’t make sense as she sees the destruction around her, before grasping her head in pain and casting cure wounds on herself
Penda says M will have to tell her everything, M says she’s going to dispel the magic on a few more people and then she will fill everyone in

Harvek Broadfang

M casts Dispel Magic on the orc who immediately comes to and takes a defensive position, looking for his weapons
The group are able to calm him enough that he doesn’t immediately bolt or attack (persuasion B 18, M 17, G and K 13)
He looks panicked and M hold her hands above her head telling him he’s safe, he asks where his weapons are and where Toni is and looks to a broken window like he’s considering running
M says everything has gone to shit and it’s kind of a long story
The Orc asks where his wolf is and M looks at the chain of dolls and does see a wolf, she asks if he would like her to dispel it as well, he says yes, appearing to get more aggressive
She takes it off and places it on the ground, casting Dispel Magic on is also and a dire wolf appears before them that growls at the group
K tries to give the wolf a hug; she holds out her hand to introduce herself and it comes to sniff her but won’t let her touch it (animal handling 13)
M asks what Toni looks like, holding up the chain of dolls, the orc says Toni is a Satyr
He says Toni is his apprentice and a very capable ranger and asks if they’re in there, M doesn’t find anyone matching the description
M says “Hold on, Toni, young Satyr, village burned down, are we talking about the same person?”
he nods and says “it’s not my business to explain their story, but yes. You know Toni?”
M says “I do, I helped them get here. I didn’t know they were coming here”
B and G can clearly see the orc has calmed down. He puts his hand through his hair and says Toni was hunting outside of town and lets out a sigh of relief
M introduces herself and the Orc says he is Harvek Broadfang and his wolf is Tintun
M gives Tintun a curtsy and much to K’s dismay, Tintun walks up and licks M’s face (animal handling 19)
K decides to get to summoning Derek back

Varsinsil

Vars comes to, looks around, notices the group and simply stands to attention
B looks at him and says “Aight”, he replies “Yep” and waits for someone to tell him what’s going on

Ribbalt

Ribbalt blinks in confusion and asks where the clown went, M says it’s dead and hopefully not coming back
Ribbalt says he would hope not as things are not supposed to come back after they die. M says they’ve killed it twice now.
Ribbalt says “Well, lead me to the other clowns then” M says they’ve sabotaged the thing that summons them so they hopefully shouldn’t be a problem anymore and Ribbalt breathes a huge sigh of relief

Filling Everyone in and Preparing for Rest

M casts dispel magic on Thalos and Joey and goes through the same general spiel as with the others
The group then gathers everyone together and fills them all in on what happened, including Sorken who still has no memory of what happened to him
As M is talking, she starts cleaning Verrus’s bite wounds, the whole time he is shivering and flinching any time she touches him (accidental intimidation 16)
Once she’s given everyone a quick rundown of the situation she says, “I don’t know about you guys, but I need to let off some stress right now, anyone else want to join?” Alastros raises a hand as do K and Derek as well as Band they head outside

Letting off Steam

M tosses K a couple of daggers before casting Ashardalon’s Stride on herself and spends a full minute running through the growing field of flowers, turning them to ash in her wake
She gets the feeling that whatever the blood was for, it doesn’t need it anymore and the flowers are siphoning it causing them to grow exponentially
K and Derek fly up and start slicing at all the vines that have started climbing the walls
Alastros goes wolf mode and starts slashing through flowers, turning his white fur crimson red with blood
B casts Heartfire and scorches a good chunk of them
Together they managed to clear a decent amount of Space around Genevieve’s making managing them overnight easier for those keeping watch

Floor Time with Gwinri

G find a spot on the floor and lies down
After a few moments Ribbalt comes and sits next to her and asks if she would happen to be a Frostbelt, she nods
Ribbalt says he knows they don’t really let strangers in but if she could get him in, he would really like to learn of the scholarly pursuits of the dwarves
She stares blankly at him for a moment before saying she’s not really in a position to do that right now
He says he understands but if she ever finds herself so inclined he would greatly appreciate it and leaves her be, saying “I’ll leave you to it. Enjoy the uh, floor”

Winding Down

M finds V who has Skylla asleep in his arms and tucks her doll under her arm and says “I’m glad she’s safe” V says “Thank you, truly”
Before heading down to rest M quickly reaches for the scrying crystal linked to S to see if they can find where she is but as she grasps it, it turns to dust in her hand
K says she thinks she can unpetrify someone and asks who, G votes for her brother, M can’t possibly choose between X and A and says she would go for either Gen or Orrinar, B votes for Genevieve, leaving K as the tie breaker, the float the idea of standing them all in a circle, putting K in the center and telling her to spin around a few times and whoever she’s facing is it, but she chooses to reunite G with her brother
She casts Greater Restoration on him, and he takes a deep breath as the colour returns to his face and exclaims as he sees G, she doesn’t say anything and just gives him a hug, he hugs her back and asks when the last time they hugged like that was
She gives him a quick rundown of what happened and he lets them know what happened that night and comments on how good the cupcakes were and asks if there are anymore
K says M burned them and he asks why she would do that, she says “because they were turning people to stone and these chuckleheads were trying to mess around with them” he says that’s a fair point and B says “God forbid I have any fun”
Orrinar then points to Gen and says to do her next, K says, “unfortunately I can’t quite yet” Orrinar says “You’re just going to let this beautiful woman stay stoned?” B points at him and says “He gets it”
K and M try to explain to him that they only have a certain amount of magic they can expend a day
G notices him starting to get worked up and tries to calm him down by saying they all need to rest (9 persuasion) He says, “What do you mean rest?”
M says “We’ve just had a really massive fight and managed to slow down a ritual that’s going to open a portal to the realm of a god of chaos and darkness...”
Orrinar looks lost for words and says, “What they actual fuck?” but calms himself down M and G both nod in agreement
As soon as Orrinar thinks no one is looking, he walks up to Gen and gives her stone cheek a kiss
The group work out who’s going to be keeping watch and decide that Axyl, Rynette, T, Draekos, Grimdahl and Eres will take shifts over the night
Ribbalt offers and is very relieved when he is not chosen
V also offers but the group shuts him down and tells him to spend some time with his daughter after they both nearly died
Tintun curls up in front of the main door to block it and goes to sleep
Vars similarly take the space by the hole in the back wall and settles in for the night

Micarafae’s Night

M settles down on the floor by X and A, cuddling into Syyrik’s shoulder as she sobs softly and takes some deep breaths and closes her eyes, trying to fall into trance
As she opens her eyes again a large hand wipes the tears from as she finds herself sitting in a large comfortable chair in Korbus’ castle
She lets out a big sigh of relief as he greats her with a big grin, she says “It’s been a fucking day”
He opens his arms to offer her a hug which she eagerly accepts, a feeling of true safety, comfort and warmth coming over her as he embraces her, the woes of the waking world taking a backseat for once
He breaks the hug and takes a seat opposite her, she asks if he caught the letter, he says not this time, and she reaches into the pocket she put it in before bed in the hopes she could show it to him
He levitates it over to himself and reads over it, as M summons Ember and starts cuddling them
He folds his arms and stands up from the chair as he floats the letter back over to M
He turns and walks to face the giant hearth before them and says “I’ve sensed some bad things. You know, unlike the other gods, I’ve got the worst of it, but something’s screwy. Something’s wrong in Ravenswood”
She asks in what ways as something thuds in the distance, eliciting a soft chuckle from Korbus
He continues “I know Skurth’s been fucking with Ravenswood, I can feel it. I don’t know what you guys did up there or how close you got to something, but I could feel him.” and pounds his chest
He then snaps his fingers, causing fire to erupt from them but M can’t make out if it did anything
M says she almost took herself out trying to stop the ritual but she at least slowed it down, he tells her she can’t be doing that kind of thing and says she can’t be throwing her life around like it’s a recourse
Ember looks very interested in the fireplace as M recalls him risking his own skin for her and says “You’re one to talk. Or is this a “Do as I say not as I do” Kind of situation?”
He chuckles and says “Yeah well, I’m a god. Or, I was. Am I? I don’t know anymore” M says it depends on how you define a god and she get get awfully philosophical about it but now isn’t the time
Korbus reaches into the fire and pulls out a giant egg, causing ember to bounce and chirp excitedly as he puts it down in front of her
He asks what the plan is and she explains how her and Alastros are going to go and scout while the other rest so they can be ready to get up and go asap
Korbus grins like he’s trying not to laugh, M tilts her head at him and he says “You’re telling me the bumbling badass himself has joined you? He’s still alive huh?”
He says he’s heard tales of him and how he should have been dead a hundred times over.
M says she would love to hear the stories someday as she feels a hand on her shoulder (perception 8)
Not knowing who it is she reflexively jumps up and pulls her dagger out and sees a confused T standing there, like he doesn't know why or how he’s there
M puts the dagger away and says “Can’t just sneak up on a girl like that” before stepping aside and gesturing for him to join them, noting that he seems to be acting different in the presence of Korbus
Korbus starts to feed the giant egg fire as it encompasses it and says “I know you two are going to be fighting, and you’re going to be fighting for your life and I really don’t want to see one of mine die again. I’m willing to give you near all of my power to help you in this fight, but I’ll be out and I’ll be out for awhile”
M walks up towards the egg and holds her hand out to see if the fire might burn her, when sensing it won’t she places her hand on the egg and T follows her lead, doing the same
Violet, purple and crimson light swirls around their hands as Korbus starts to glow a bright, brilliant blue=white and says “Be safe. Don’t take chances unless it’ll win you all the marbles”
M nods as she feels new power surge inside her

Kree’s Night

K sits against a wall facing one of the exits with her trident by her side
Derek comments on how nuts it is that Sylvara is actually Sylvareth the archfey, K says it’s good to have her back and that hopefully she’s on their side
Derek gets somber and asks if K thinks she remembers the two of them sitting in her shoulders, K says she seems to remember everything so she probably does
Derek looks a little sad and asks why she isn’t with them now, K says she doesn’t know, only that they’re all trying to figure stuff out right now
Derek tackle hugs K and tells her not to leave him and they settle in to sleep
K hears an unfamiliar voice say “Oh, you’re back. It’s been some time”
She opens her eyes to see the obsidian black walls of a castle and a very old orc, she asks how he has been. he offers her tea and Derek grabs the cup before she can and asks if he’s the baby orc, he says he is
Derek says what she did was fucked up and the old orc tells K to follow him
As she’s lead through, she can see out the windows what appears to be a large red dome encompassing the castle, similar to the one over Ravenswood
K is lead into a room and sees Kallista examining a large sword before noticing her presence and greeting her
She says “So, Skurth, Archfey, what are you getting yourself into, my girl?
K says she wishes she knew but it seems to be important that they stop it, Kallista says whatever is going on, her powers have been greatly reduced
K asks how long the dome has been there, Kallista says if she had to guess there’s always been something around the town, but it wasn’t malevolent in nature, that perhaps it was some kind of protective enchantment that was corrupted by a “blood mage”
K says that’s pretty spot on from what she knows
Kallista says the part she can’t wrap her head around is how Skurth twisted the magic and how one champion was able to get so much power and how the power is being sustained now that S is free
Kallista asks how many champion crystals K saw and hypothesises that Varik may have absorbed them into himself or carries them on his person and that she believes there might be two more
She says she has been unable to reach out to Iuxta, another goddess of the pantheon, but she believes their champions are in his possession
Kallista asks if she’s ever wondered how the nightmare creatures originated and says they already have access to V, the male champion of Xiranatos, god of dreams and nightmares
Kallista says she believes if not Iuxta’s champions then Varik could have the female champion of Xiranatos
Kallista says she thought Lunae to be the female champion but thinks she may have just learned or manipulated the power
The old man walks back into the room and wobbles a bit, Derek flies down to steady him and without even thinking about it, Kallista waves her hand and he’s back to being a teenage boy
Kallista says this is all exhausting; she just wants to help but she is trapped here
K says that’s what she’s here for, Kallista says, “If only Jyn were the same as you” and says she gifted him power long ago and now she doesn’t know where he is and she couldn’t even pull him into her realm if she wanted to
K says they’re either incredibly powerful or incredibly far away, Kallista says it’s the former
Kallista approaches K and touches her face and a wave of gold washes over her, leaving her talons shining gold and she says “I will grant you my greatest give in your more dire time of need. Live forever, Kree”

Bruzrik’s Night

B props himself up in a corner, watching both doors
B spots George working on deciphering one of the runes from The Stone lord and is able to clock it as a dragon
George says he believes this is the one that nearly took at M and then says “But Sir, I have a more discerning query. This Stone lord, why didn’t he try to petrify anyone? Do you think the pressure of the teams might be too much to spend on petrifaction?”
B says that’s a good question and wonders if it’s a misnomer George asks if there might be another threat to worry about, B says he’s almost certain there is, George says they should alert the others in the morning
George says he can see B is getting sleepy but starts stammering before he can finish the sentence
Next thing B hears is the voice Zaolu complaining about George then asks what B is doing
B sees George now in the form of some kind of visual monitoring apparatus, Zaolu says maybe it need an upgrade
B puts his head in his hands and says he’s in hell
Zaolu tells him to follow and a little mechanical squirrel appears and starts heading in a direction, B follows towards the workshop
As B looks back to where Zaolu was all he says are dissipating golden sparkles
B hears a crunch and something whirring up (perception 8) as he gets clocked in the head by something mechanical feeling (dex save 6) dealing 12 thunder damage to him
B turns to see a Gnome woman in a hovering mechanical suit behind him
B reaches out and grabs her (20 vs 17) and hold her up to his face
She says “You really want to do this? I’ll fry you!” B says “Big words for someone who hit me first”
Lightning starts to crackle around her as she says she’s not afraid to fry him before they both get flung away from each other and Zaolu says “This isn’t how I intended for you two to meet”
The gnome says she can take him, Zaolu says that’s not why he bought her here and B asks why he just got punched by something not even a quarter of his size
Zaolu introduces her as Unerra
B can see she has copper hair and teal eyes and that her mechanical armour is completely covered in runes, able to recognise some of the ones George had been working on
Zaolu says it took a considerable amount of effort to bring them there and that he needs Unerra to give B the thing, she says there’s no way she’s giving it to him
B crosses his arms and says she owes him after punching him
She looks at B’s armour and says he can’t even use it because he already has gauntlets on, he takes off a gauntlet and throws it at her
Zaolu said he gave that to her because she needed it and now B needs it more, she pouts and takes of a gauntlet before flying over to him
B can see it’s made out of the same material as George as she holds it out to him, face scrunched up and not looking at him
She tells him to take care of it and B does an unnecessarily deep bow
Unerra says she’s going to want that back and Zaolu says “Unerra you already have another one” she says, “But it’s mine!” she says “No...” (insight 2)
Zaolu puts his hands on B’s shoulders and B can see that his breathing is more laboured than he’s ever seen it
Zaolu says he has something little for him and hands him a ring made of bands of Zolium, steel and a number of other metals welded together, B puts it on and doesn’t feel anything
Zaolu gives him a smarmy smile and says he’s got his back
B asks if he wants to look at the sword he made and pulls out The Shabtooth Ripper much to the amazement and disbelief of Unerra and Zaolu
Zaolu runs off and comes back with paper starts asking questions as he takes notes
Unerra is hovering over Zaolu’s shoulder looking at his notes and admiring the sword, obviously impressed
She says “Hey, you mind spilling your secrets next time we meet?” B replies “I don’t know are you going to donkey punch me?” She says only if he liked it
Unerra flies over to B and gives him a kiss on the cheek before disapparating into a bunch of small gears and Zaolu apologises saying he couldn’t keep her here any longer
Zaolu says his “service” hasn’t been working to great lately and it has been impacting his ability to look in on him and that he couldn’t get Unerra to him, so he brought her here instead
B says he has a few ideas of things he’d like to make before he remembers the receivers and tablets he took from Tibor Noviko
Zaolu asks if he made those too B says no, they came from a person who blew himself up and briefly explains the situation
Zaolu says he wants to take a page out of Kallista’s book and try and bring Tibor to his realm to get some answers from him
B says that will be awhile away because he has to fix the machine he made first and explains that it turns organic beings into machines, Zaolu looks both fascinated and horrified
Zaolu stumbles and falls to the ground, B catches him and Zaolu says B is gonna do great and that he really shouldn’t have pulled her here and that he’ll be watching, he’s just got to fix his satellite dish.
B says he doesn’t know what any of that means and Zaolu puts a hand on top of the hand wearing the ring and it starts to glow

Gwinri’s night

G finds somewhere to lie down and passes the fuck out
She wakes up in a familiar hall but this time silhouettes line the sides, except for one she can see clearly that she recognises as Yoshinmitsu, the card that she pulled in the fight with the machine lord
She walks down towards the throne, getting to within a couple meters of it and can tell that there is some kind of magical dome obfuscating what is actually there and gets a bad feeling from it
She gets the impression that if she hit it hard enough with her pickaxe she might be able to get through it (arcana 20)
She takes a swing at it but can’t break through but isn’t able to do damage to it (17 attack)
She gets the feeling that if she weren’t to hit hard enough it would be a bad time, readies herself and similarly isn’t able to get through (18 attack)
She attacks a third time but fails to hit hard enough (13 attack) and it pushed back 10 feet (strength save 28)
G feels the deck thrumming with power and decides to pull a card
She hears a shout in the distance say “Aw shit! Fuck yeah!” as 30 feet away from her glass is shattered as a Vulpin bursts from the silhouette
He jumps from foot to foot and says “Alright, we doing this, miss?”
She says they need to get through the barrier, and he says it looks like they need to go “Full power”
He goes into a full sprint as his fur alights in flame and slams into the barrier, dealing 38 damage to it and causing it to shatter, revealing Gwenzaline slumped and bleeding on the throne
The Vulpin says that wasn’t him and G runs up to look her over
It seems like she should be dead but G gets the impression that’s not that case even though she’s not breathing
G recalls when she used Time Step during the fight that there was some kind of force keeping Gwenzaline from reaching her and also that Sylvareth tried to fight against the power holding them in time for that moment and surmises that must have had some impact on Gwenzaline (medicine 15)
She also feels like Gwenzaline may have been trying to help Alastros during the fight
The Vulpin walks up and kneels in front of Gwenzaline and her body turns from orc in wolf as her chest starts to rise and fall with breath once again (perception 15)
Gwenzaline grows in size, and roars. G backs up a bit
Gwenzaline directs an almost feral gaze at G and waits for her to speak
G asked what happened and Gwenzaline says “Skurth” as she shakes with rage
She says she will heal and asks T to tell her if she plans on ending this, G gives a firm nod
Gwenzaline takes a breath and shrinks down to the smallest G has seen her and says “Rise. Return to your place until you’re called upon again” to the Vulpin
He winks at G and dashes back to his place
Gwenzaline says that is Tylat, a fierce, headstrong warrior he died, but lives on as a time lost hero in her deck
Gwenzaline asks how many she can see, G says 2 and Gwenzaline says one day she’ll see them as she does
She places her paws on G’s arms, causing her hands to wolf out also as her claws start to glow and says “I’m giving you this fleeting power, my strength is your strength in this last fight”
Gwenzaline coughs up some gross slowly stuff and says “I must rest, Gwinri, you must win. You can’t let another champion fall. If one of you falls, and I mean beyond where Kallista can save you, we’re all doomed” G nods with determination
