General Summary
Sunday 20/05/2345
Before Dawn
- Hear a gong
- M knocks on B’s door
- Explains she wants to get sus guy to trust them
- Basically gonna gaslight him
- M swoops down and tells him he must have had a fall
- Hears a second gong
- Meanwhile K is still asleep
- G wakes up and examines the sword
- Introduces himself as Todd
- Says he and his brother run the jolly jackalope
- Todd says says to come by after hours
- Hear a third gong
- Genevieve goes outside to see what’s going on
- G looks out her window, can’t see where the sound would be coming from
- G heads downstairs
- K wakes up
- M notices that Genevieve hasn’t heard this sound before, this is new to her and is immediately alarmed (nat 20)
- M signals to B to follow her outside
- K heads upstairs
- G and K see M and B walking outside and follow
- Todd also follows
- See 3 figures, masked man in leather armour, femme figure in metal armour, third figure looks like a creature but humanoid
- Don’t seem bothered by the gong
- Can’t see their faces behind masks and hoods
- Seem to be speaking a different language
- Seem to be chatting in a mix of common and another language
- M casts comprehend languages
- One of them notices the group
- Feminine figure seems to be casting a spell
- She turns invisible
- Creature says “The wards are set for moonlight, yes?”
- Humanoid says “Of course they’re ready I’ve set them up”
- Femme says “I’ve set the music boxes”
- B sees a Lizardfolk girl and thinks she’s similar to the girl from his dream
- M passes on what she’s overheard
- B casts divine sense
- Doesn’t sense anything major got undead vibes
- B makes his way to the little girl
- M approaches the group to try and talk
- B and K roll perception, neither notice anything
- M rolls another nat 20
- Notices a large metal spike has been driven into the cobbles with a straw doll on it and notices them by B and K, she warns them, getting a bad vibe obviously placed by the group and takes a step back
- G steps up to meet her
- B grabs Skylla (young girl) and turns to leave
- M notices music boxes around
- Skylla bites Todd
- Music boxes have symbols on them but can’t make them out
- K tries to get a better look, hits a loose floorboard and the music box tumbles away (nat 1)
- G moves a little close to the music box
Combat
Round 1
- M rolls 6
- K 14
- G 15
- B nat 1
- S 21
- S goes to the music box asks if we’re destroying them M says see if you can identify it first but probably don’t touch it
- S can’t quite identify the markings pulls out paper to quickly sketch him
- Todd is over confident and tells B he’s got it
- G goes to look at the totem
- B tells us there’s necromantic energy coming from them
- G goes to break the totem in front of her
- Hits it and does 12 damage and destroys it, nothing bad happens
- Gwinri goes to the totem on the platform
- Gen pulls out frying pans and says to not worry about her
- K pulls out her scimitar and moves up to the totem by G
- K takes a swing at the totem rolls a nat 1, hits the tip and lets out a loud ring
- Gen moves to back up G
- Creature raises his right hand to 12 left and his mid at six, moves in circular motion, shadowy tendrils coming from his hands, motions to the ground and a creature pops out
- K uses halo of spores as a reaction
- Summon fails
- Creature also fails
- 1 necrotic damage to summon
- 4 necrotic to creature
- They disapprove
- Invisible lady goes and does something
- Girl tries to run past B, B tries to grab her, rolls 16 athletics and is able to stop her, she growls
- M casts gust to kick up dust, K sees dust hit invis lady, and that she’s placed another box, she drops invis
- M gives K bardic
- Humanoid moves to S
- Casts a spell and misses
- Summon moves to K
- Rolls con save for halo of spores and passes
- Summon tries to grapple K they roll 7, K rolls 3 plus 3 from bardic, grabs her leg and attacks for 3 damage
- B cats sleep on the child and succeeds
- B moves to beat up “The Daddy” K can handle the little creep
- B uses acid breath on creature, does 5 acid damage
Round 2
- Cloud is moving from the east towards us
- S swings at the humanoid and misses
- Todd moves to defend the sleeping girl
- G takes a swing at the stake and destroys it
- Moves up to K and uses action surge and tries to pull the summon from K doesn’t succeed
- K tries to shake the little dude off, doesn’t succeed
- K takes flight goes up 5 feet and moves of the music box
- K tries to “Punch him with her bird feet” but misses
- Gen tries to hit the humanoid with a frying pan, he dodges
- Creature rolls con and saves from halo
- Tries to cast shadowbolt on S and does 13 damage
- Invis lady walks away and leaves the area
- M Tells the humanoid he has no balls attacking the smallest person and does 1 psychic damage
- M hands S a handkerchief and gives her a bardic
- Humanoid hits Gen for 10 damage and is incapacitated
- Hits S for 9 damage and is knocked out
- Little guy takes 4 necrotic damage
- He climbs up K’s body, K tries to stop him but can’t, he places hands on her head
- K succeeds wisdom saving through
- Feels the little guy try to reach his claws into her skull
- B Sprouts wings and jumps up to grab the little guys and rolls dirty 20 and pulls him off
- B throws the little guy at the creature and take 9 damage each
- Both are bloodied
- B moves to fly 15 feet above them
Round 3
- Moonlight moves closer and a skeleton materialises from one of the totems
- G moves to the humanoid and takes a swing at him and does 13 damage
- K lands and picks up the music and flies 10 feet in the air and throws the box at the totem rolls a nat 1, misses the totem but destroys the music box
- Skele takes 4 necrotic damage from halo, loses some unimportant bones, maybe some ribs, could possibly suck himself off
- Creature shoots shadowbolt at G, hits and does 10 damage
- Skele moves closer and saves against halo
- Swings and G and misses
- M picks up music box and throws it at him, rolls nat 1 and throws it into the hands of the creature
- M pretends she meant to do it, looks at B, tells him “Two for one” and gives him bardic
- Humanoid attacks M for 4 damage, misses hit on G
- Creature tells summon to “go for the girl”
- Creature moves past M, M catches him with her dagger dealing 6 damage
- Little guy shoots a beam from his chest at Todd, connecting them, Todd looks like he’s terrified
- B drops down and hits the creature for 8 + 5 from bardic, caving his skulls in and destroying the music box, moves to humanoid
Round 4
- Moonlight moves more, summoning another Skelle which saves from Halo
- Todd runs up and tries to hit the little guy and misses
- Skele saves against halo and moves behind B, taking a swing and misses
- G takes a swing at the totem, rolls nat 20, destroys the totem and skele 2 disappears
- K flies over skele, humanoid saves against halo
- K moves to the nearest totem and takes a swing at it and destroys it
- Skele moves closer fails con save takes 4 damage, loses and arm attacks B and misses
- M throws dagger and the little guy and does 6 damage, little guy is still standing
- Humanoid saves against halo, opens his cape and throws a totem down
- Todd runs from the little guy
- Little guy goes up to Skylla and grapples her
- B moves towards the little guy, skele swings and misses, humanoid hits for 2 damage
- B tries to pull the little guy off Skylla and succeeds, throwing him at the humanoid dealing 5 damage to both, the little guy dies
Round 5
- Moonlight moves again, summoning a new skele from the totem by M
- First totem changes colour, skele regains some health and has shadowy purple aura
- Skele 1 attacks G, hitting for 2 damage plus 2 necrotic
- Todd runs back to Skylla
- G disengages and moved towards the upgraded totem
- K moves to grab the music box, flies 10 feet in the air and the air and throws the music box at the totem, breaking both of them
- Skele 3 moves to attack M but misses
- Girl wakes up and runs past Todd
- Girls looks at humanoid and reaches out a hand, pointing at him, he fails the save and she says in an amplified voice “Drop your weapons” He drops his dagger and stares at her
- M picks up his dagger and stabs the totem, dealing 4 points and destroying it
- Girls asks humanoid why he has done this he says “it was her command”
- B moves over and casts sleep on the humanoid and fails, having more than 23 hp
Round 6
- Moonlight moves further
- Skele tried to attack B, hitting for 4 damage plus 4 necrotic
- Todd runs up to M
- G swings at the upgraded totem and misses
- K rolls arcana and feels like what Skylla did isn’t normal magic
- K comes up behind him and ties his hands behind him, he offers no resistance
- K casts frost on skele, it fails the con save, takes 4 cold damage and dies
- Girl moves to attack him, M persuades her to stop so they can get answers, she grumbles but complies
- M checks the dagger, somewhere between a dagger and short sword, has carvings and indentations and gives the help action to B
- Girls asks what his name is he says “She calls Corvin the black herald”
- B moves over to the totem and destroys it
- Moonlight recedes
Combat Ends
Post Combat
- B moves to S and Gen and heals them for 5 hp each with lay on hands
- Corvin comes back to his senses
- M high fives Skylla feeling a zap and gives B a knowing look, he nods in return
- Girls mother calls for her to come home, she says she should probably go, M asks if she wants to get a hit in and encourages her to hit him in the nuts and she whacks him in the nuts with her tail and skips off
- M asks if B can cast sleep again, but he can’t, he instead punches him in the skull and knocks him out
- M helps S up and into the tavern
- B loots the summoner, doesn’t have any weapons, but finds a music box, snapping the handle off and hearing a small zap
- B hoists by the ankles and shakes him, a couple of totems fall out under the awning, and he shoves them in his pocket after taking the dolls off
- Noticing runes on them but can’t understand the language even with comprehend languages
- B drags Corvin and the creature inside the tavern, making sure Corvin is properly restrained
- M looks at the music box and totem, telling S to to go rest and she’ll take down all the details
- M leads S to her room for a rest, B says “you just want to share your room with her” M glares at him for reasons she doesn’t quite understand
- M says “Don’t fucking touch them until I take notes” and feels godly approval
- B examines the creature not technically undead because it’s made of twisted living things, wasn’t made using necromancy, gets weird tingling from looking at totems but not from the music box
- B shoves it into the fire, fire goes green blue and purple
- M asks Gen if she has anywhere where we could tie up a guy for awhile
- Gen says maybe The Radiant Hall could help or maybe the glade outside of town
- M turns to Todd and asks the same, rolls a nat 20 persuasion and he tells them to take them to the jolly jackalope and around back, but not to tell anyone
Short rest
- Party decide to go see the paladins after a short rest, M uses song of rest
- B takes a nap has some dreams, sees humanoid ratfolk in the fire, rat speaks to him and says his name is Zaolu and he’s been watching, B is his champion, he adds 2 to his intelligence and gets a new spell
- K also has a nap she falls next to a large river that is glowing red, she hears muted screams, sees green grass and a cottage on the other side, A face of a Tiefling appears in the river and says “you’ve met the undead didn’t you… how did they make you feel” K says she doesn’t know, Kalista shoots a soul into her body and says “You are not ready yet, but a gift is yours”
- G takes a nap too and finds herself in front of a huge temple, looking up and around the outside realises she’s within an extremely tall mountain and is surrounded by a giant labyrinth. She heads into the temple seeing statues of Orc women getting bigger and more beast like as she walks down the corridor, eventually becoming werewolves, the corridor ends in an empty throne. Examines the throne, looks like a very large person would sit in it. G climbs into it and sits on the throne. Nothing happens at first but a little bit of time passes before hearing a normal male voice saying “I don’t think you’re supposed to be on there” and she wakes up seemed like another person was sharing the dream with her
