General Summary

Wednesday 24/05/2345

Genevieve’s Inn

Genevieve’s is empty apart from the assembled crew
M walks in with T, G, K and Alastros and says “Sorry boys, I hate to disappoint but it seems the position has been filled”
M introduces T to everyone
T sticks near M as she’s the only real connection he has and is trying not to be intimidating
Ember is sitting on T’s shoulder
A and M notice something special about T’s axe, that is it entirely made from the wood of the ever-burning trees of Korbus’s realm
M has a closer look and notices it looks like it’s not as heavy to hold as a regular battle axe would be and even she may be able to wield it (Light not heavy weapon) (Investigation 10)
Lili and Jazen come in and join the group

Prepping and Planning

M says, “I just had a thought, if Bruzrik wasn’t going to be able to fit down the passageway into the sewers, I don’t think Draekos is either” Draekos says “Don’t worry about me, I can get anywhere. Water powers don’t worry about it”
M quickly goes over everything she learned from the book so everyone knows what they might have to face
M gives 3 Healing Arrows and a potion of healing to Lili as she is the only healer going into the sewers and is tapped from the earlier fight with Lunae
M notices Lili looks less perky than usual and is avoiding looking at X
X is sitting at a table with J and A and doesn’t notice Lili avoiding her
M Turns back to the group and says “Alright, here’s what I propose; 3 teams, those of us going to fight in the pit the team going into the sewers to see if they can find where their home base is and hopefully rescue people and another team to stay up here and make sure the guards aren’t harassing towns folk and if anything happens up here they can be ready for that”
Alastros perks up hearing the third option and looks at him and says “Yeah, I know, I was already thinking that” Alastros says “I’m just so good at rooting out evil though” to no one in particular
M continues” So, my thoughts are; obviously we have the 5 of us who are going to the pit (B, G, K, M & T), Lili obviously needs to go into the sewers, Varuug would also obviously want to go, Lili and Jazen will probably want to stick together, and then having Syyrik and Corvin as well, I think that would be helpful” M turns to Draekos and asks “Are you going to be able to find your way through the sewers to meet up with them?” He looks her dead in the eyes and says “I will follow them and I’ll get there, don’t worry”
M says “But you can’t go down, can you? Or are you saying that through “water powers” you can basically shift into a form that will fir through?” He nods and says, “Once a day” and seems like he was trying to avoid saying it for reasons unknown
M adds Draekos to team B, which leaves A, Alastros, J, S, & X
M looks to Orrinar and says, “Would you be willing to stay up here and help if needed?” He looks a little torn as he came here with other priorities but looks to G, puts his arm across his chest and says, “I’ll stay here and defend this place with these warriors” and M adds him to team C
M remembers they were never actually introduced at the baths and offers her hand, saying “Also, I’m Micarafae, it’s nice to meet you” he replies “Aye, I thought I had met you already” and shakes her hand
M stands back up straight and looks and G and Orrinar and laughs a little to herself saying “Man, if Blen could see me now, he’d be so pissed!” Orrinar says “Aye, that he would” with a smile
Syyrik raises a hand as if to ask a question, but V pulls it down as it’s not the time
M Addresses C team and says “If you’re going to be leaving here, don’t go alone, stay with someone”
S whispers into K’s ear asking who she should stay with, saying she probably would have just stayed with A but Alastros looks capable and hot
K thinks better than to put S with someone who is likely to actively seek out a fight and gets hopelessly lost and tells her “I’d say probably stick with Alaric. Alastros is certainly capable of anything but finding his way. So, while I’m sure you would be safe, we don’t want to lose you”
M takes off one of The Bangles of the Lost and Found and passes it to Alastros so they can track him down if he gets lost again
M explains that when she was out earlier she came across two missing shop keepers and G also found a third, Alastros interrupts and says “Well it’s not just shop keeps, you all know I was lost, but there are posters all over about missing people and a tonne by that adventurer’s building, whatever that is called”
M continues and says “I would just say, I mean, I’m suspicious because I’m always suspicious, but the fact that Thalos, the owner of Moon & Sun Appraisals, who was very helpful to us and had a connection to the Thieves’ Guild and the owner of The Verdant Vial are all missing, it seems like people who are useful. Thalos knew about Solvexis Circles, they all seem to have some connection or knowledge that could be of use to us or Nekros and his crew. So, I’m just a little worried that there may be a target on Moritha. So, if someone could check in on her, maybe bring her here, if she feels more comfortable with that. Yeah, just keep an eye out and be ready because they’re probably thinking the same as us; while attention is on The Iron Pit, it’s a good time to try and do some other things, when attention would not be directed there”
Everyone nods in understanding and agreement, and M says they should probably head off then, walks over to X and A and kisses them both, they both share a look of acceptance regarding the other’s relationship with M and seem to be more comfortable with it, X squeezes M’s hand before she moves away
A and B teams get ready to leave

Comparing Tridents

Draekos calls K over, asks S to give them some space and she pouts and pulls Derek away with her
He asks to see K’s trident, and she holds it out to him and he takes it, tilting his head ad commenting on how he thought he would feel something touching it then asks if K has held M’s sword, K says no
He holds it a bit longer, seeming like he’s actively concentrating on it and asks, “Do you actively make the shadows seep out or does it do that on its own?” K says that seems to be an innate thing and he hands it back to her
K asks if she may see his and he stands up, summoning a swirl of water from the floor from which his trident forms and he grabs it, and holds it out to her and she takes it, feeling the buzz briefly as their fingers touch, but beyond that the trident itself feels very heavy in her hand and doesn’t feel at all magical.
Draekos looks at her and says “Alright, well that was a theory I wanted to test out” K says “Yeah, that is interesting, and also slightly, I don’t know if concerning would be the right word, but we know a way to see if a person that we are physically interacting with is another champion, but not if a weapon they may have bared was one of their champion status” He nods, recalling M and the brooch and J with Nekros’ sword

Sylvara and Crystal Dowsing

K goes over to S who is dancing with Derek, he sees K and immediately flies up to her neck and gets cozy, K tells them to remember she has two shoulders
S flutters in front of K’s face and says hi, K asks how she’s doing and S says, “Pretty good now that I know who’s on my team” K says “Good, I’m glad we have that figured out and the teams all seem quite solid. You’re in good hands and I’m sure that they’ll really appreciate any help you can give them”
S says she still has her wand but doesn’t think her magic is back” K says it can’t hurt to give it a try but not to be relying on it and S says she also has the scimitar K gave her
M seeing this conversation remembers the search for the memory shard and looks to the group who went to fight Lunae and asks if any of them checked Lunae’s body for the memory shard and is told by B and Jazen that there wasn’t much left of her body as it all turned into plants and decomposed
M asks for the for the map and the dowsing crystals and sets it up on a table, holding the blue crystal linked to S over the map before Lili steps up, saying she has a more detailed map and lays it out on the table for M
M holds the crystal over the map and J comes up behind her asking what she’s doing, M explains that the blue crystal is linked to the memory shard taken from S and that the pink is linked to the person whose memory shard Moritha has
M feels the dowsing crystal pull towards almost the dead center of town where they had been earlier and not too far away from the well they had to go under to close the portal that was spewing water into town
It seems like it moving very slowly and M is able to Surmise that it is likely underground and remembers the tales of the underground caretakers of Ravenswood and what Lili told them about meeting creatures in the sewers below but also that Nekros has set up camp in there too
M says it seems like it’s underground and since they’ll be going underground, they should keep a hold of it, giving the map back to Lili and the crystal to B, having already taught him and C to use it and tells them to keep an eye out while using Minor Illusion to show an image of the memory shard Moritha has

Talking about Godly Boons

M looks to B and asks if the tacking amulet Zaolu gave him would work for someone else, B pulls it out and hands it to V, the second it comes into contact with V it’s almost as if it powers down and stops glowing entirely and seems to grow heavy in his hand despite being made of Zolium
T says he was able to wield The Ash Song and contact Korbus through it, M says “So it’s not so much that the items are made specifically for us, but for champions of a given god”
T says “It’s almost like we’re marked. Have you given him the sword?” And points to A
M hands The Ash Song to A and it looks like the sword is malfunctioning, it sparks and struggles to get the flames going, almost like there is a connection but not a strong enough one, like he has been blessed, but he is not a champion
He comments that it’s not working for him but it’s not heavy and hands it back to M

Sibling Bonding

G takes Orrinar’s hand and tells him to keep safe he says “I know I can’t always handle my temper, but I’ll do my best, only if you do” G says she will
Orrinar leans in and says “Is it true what they say? I’ve been talking to some of the others; can you turn into a giant wolf?” G says, “To some extent” and he squishes her arm saying, “Feel like the same Gwinri though” and gives her arm a gentle punch
Orrinar says “But really, I am sorry, I’ve cooled down. I’ve cooled down and I see you’re quite in some dire straits” G says, “It’s understandable” and he smiles adding “When this is over, we’ll find those two together, for better or worse”

Equipping George

B says, “I’ve just had an idea, since Obviously I can’t go with the sewer team and we don’t have another champion of Zaolu here, what if I sent George with them?” and pulls out George
George whirs to life and asks how he may be of service, B says “I want you to take this compass and see if you can use it” George says he will have to transform in order to hold it and be tells him to do so and he transforms into a more minimalist version of a smithy workbench floating in the air and B places the compass on him and it seems to stick in place as if magnetised, but B still pulls out some rags and makes sure it’s tied on securely just in case
The compass is still functioning until Syyrik walks up and touches it, causing it to power down again and B slaps his hand away before touching it again, causing it to start glowing again and B says “No one touch the god damn floating anvil”
Lili thinks about going and touching it, but Jazen stops her before she could decide whether or not she wanted to

A Toast Before Leaving

As they’re about to leave, X comes up and pushes B from behind and B turns to look at her with a raised eyebrow
X points at him and says, “Do not get my girl in trouble” B says “I don’t think I’m the one you have to worry about on that”
X squints at him and says, “I just don’t trust this to be a fair fight” B says, “I’m not going to make it fair” she nods and says, “That’s what I want to hear” and gives B a hug
Garrin bursts out of the back with bottles of alcohol and cups, placing them down on the table and telling everyone to grab one
Garrin asks who’s going to toast and S picks up a stein and says, “I will” and flutters up so everyone can see her”
S says “To the team who’s going to kick some ass in the pit, I wish you all the luck, all the power, and kick some ass. To the team who’s going underground, I want you to kick ass... Uh...” and starts floundering, looking to K for help
M raises an empty hand and says, “To victory!” A slips a glass over water into her hand as she says that she smiles to him, and the rest of the group raise their glasses and repeat the toast, granting them all inspiration
Teams A and B head out as team C start working on making Genevieve’s defensible
M tells B team that if they manage to find anyone and get them out, to bring them back to Genevieve’s

Moving Through Town

On the way the notice way less guards around, T being sure to stand in front of B any time guards start looking his was and snarling aggressively so they back off
With a combination of stealth and well-timed false interactions the group manage to make it through town unabated (Performance B 9, M & G 17, Stealth K 9)
On the way M falls in line with B and says “Sorry I kind of went off at you back there. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I stand by what I said, just maybe not necessarily how I said it” B replies “Just get me a chance at Nekros’ head, that’s all I care about right now” M says she does have a couple plans and goes over them with B
B says they could work, and M says “You know what they say, no plan survives contact with the enemy”
B says, “My one concern is, I know Nekros is expecting us to try something” M says “Well, we’re expecting him to try something, so...” B says “Exactly, but that’s more obvious, he’s an asshole. At any rate, I think it’s worth a shot”
M says “Oh, and I forgot to tell you, but I promised Nekros that if we lost, he could publicly execute you. I didn’t say you’d go willingly though” B chuckles and says “He can fucking try”
M says, “I figured that would be your reaction” B replies “Well, onwards to my death then”

The Jolly Jackalope

As they get to The Jolly Jackalope they notice it looking a little worse for wear, some windows have been smashed and there doesn’t seem to be any movement inside
Lili runs in and calls out to Kelsy but gets no response or notice anything out of place (perception 4)
Lili sees some people who look like they’re passed out on the tables and pays them no mind before running into the back and not finding anyone
Everyone else enters and looks around G notices a box on the bar and M notices that the people aren’t passed out or sleeping and also spots the box (perception B & K 7, G 11, M 20)
M casts Detect Magic on the box and feels an aura of Transmutation magic emanating from inside it and instinctively casts Dispel Magic
M then nudges Syyric to go and check it for traps and he walks up, looks inside and says, “I hate to tell you this, but you just cast some spells in some cupcakes” and tips it over showing the contents
M walks over to the hunched over figures to see if they trigger anything with her detect magic up but feels nothing but assumes that whatever happened to them is linked to the cupcakes
K grabs a butter knife from the table and taps one of the figures with the blunt end and hears a tink and feels solid resistance revealing they have been petrified
M says “The stone lord...”
Having a closer look M can see two of the patrons are splashed with teal paint and walks over to see Amber and Turq so someone from Nyx’s crew has found them and is trying to keep track of them, presumably knowing something of what went down
Jazen picks up a cupcake that had falled when Syyrik overturned the box and everyone can see that they have green icing with some gold decoration on top
He takes a bite and says it tastes like shit
M grabs a cupcake and throws it at the wall in frustration, B picks one up and throws it at Jazen which causes Lili to throw one at B, clearly annoyed at him

Micarafae and Syyrik

M pulls Syyrik aside to somewhere they won’t be overheard
Syyrik asks what the hell is going on in this town and M says she doesn’t know and that she wanted to talk to him real quick
M says “Don’t get me wrong, I’m not planning on dying tonight, but I don’t want to risk this going unsaid. I’m going to have to make this really quick, but I promise we can talk about it later. I know you have feelings for me” Syyrik blushes and looks down at his feet
M continues “And, well, I’ve come to learn a few things about myself in the recent days, one of which that that I think I’m a lesbian, mostly. Probably? I don’t know... But the main thing is, you know what it was like at the manor...” his blushing fades and he looks serious and nods
M says, “He taught me how to use people...” Syyrik winces at that, M continues “And I think in my survival mode fell back on that and I just worry that I... I’m worried that I subconsciously used the fact that you have feelings for me to get you more attached to me so that you would help me...”
Syyrik is quiet for a moment before saying “It’s ok Micarafae, I know you’re a good person” and puts a hand on her shoulder, she pulls him in for a big hug
Syyrik choke up for a moment and says, “But don’t die” M says, “I won’t if you won’t” H wipes away a tear and says not to worry about him
M says, “If anything does happen to me, will you tell dad?” Syyrik says he will and she thanks him before they both rejoin the group

Splitting Ways

Lili takes Team B out the back and to the window that she found is unlocked, opens it and lets everyone in before revealing the hidden ladder down into the sewers
Draekos waits to make sure no one is watching and shifts his form into water and glides down the hole to rejoin the group
M turns to everyone left and asks if everyone is ready, they all nod and do various ready for battle gestures for emphasis and head to the entrance to The Iron Pit

The Iron Pit

On the way down M tells everyone that her and K should focus on healing and support and less on damage while B, G and T focus on damage while also protecting the healers
M says to B that her and K can both cast Dispel magic now so it’s probably a good idea to give one Talisman of Dispelling to either G or T, he opts to give it to G since she is super quick and could get to someone in need in a hurry
Before getting to the entrance with the stone keypad the group see Nyx and Lavender who are also petrified and covered in teal paint and a bit further down, they also spot an ogre and a knight similarly petrified and marked and note they don’t seem to be hunched over like the others upstairs, assuming they were able to withstand if it made them sleepy or dizzy but couldn’t overcome the petrification and that it seemed to happen quickly
The get to the door and unlock it, heading into the pit, seeing more of Nyx’s crew who have been petrified as well as some patrons
They also noticed a scarecrow with a teal bandana standing in the room that is not made of stone and assume they are the one who has been marking Nyx’s crew and a petrified Thri-kreen beside them
B remembers Nyx mentioning in passing having a scarecrow on the team named Baltoc (History B 13, G 12, K & M 11)
They also see some of Dreadnaught Dorian’s crew but not Dorian himself
At the opposite end of the pit, they can see Micarafaux in Drow form standing with arms crossed and 4 figures behind and on either side of her
B calls out Baltoc and asks what happened to everybody, Baltoc chooses not to betray the fact that he is a sentient creature but tilts his head slightly and winks
M notices the wink (perception 23) and casts message and asks what’s going on and gets a raspy voice in return saying “There was free food, I don’t eat. Honestly, I don’t even know why Lavender attempted to eat it, but it worked. Lavender is literally made of bone. Please do not eat the cupcakes from the boxes. They don’t know I’m not alive”
M also notices two more similar boxes, one on a table and one on the betting booth
B notices the closer box and K notices them both (perception K 19, B 12)
M casts message again and say “We won’t give you away. We will take care of things here and find some clerics once we’ve sorted shit out” Baltoc tells her to be careful
K tries to carefully approach the box of cupcakes but a firebolt shoots out from behind Micarafaux and destroys the box
Micafaux taps her foot impatiently and says, “Are we doing this?”
B attempts to distract Micarafaux’s crew (performance 11) while K tries to sneck over to the other box (stealth 4)
M leans against the wall and questions her life choices
Another firebolt shoots towards the box but misses and sets a chair ablaze
M decides they have the right idea and shoots a firebolt at the box herself, destroying it as she just wants to get shit over with
The people behind Micarafaux step out and B recognises one of them as Lady Celestine, having heard stories of how she is an oathbreaker paladin, that she fought for the side of good until she asked her goddess for help with her daughter but the goddess appeared and told her that was how things were supposed to be which drove her to break her oath (history 18)
Lady Celestine wears dark steel armour with the vestments of her old order over the top though heavily soiled with blood and dirt
Beside Lady Celestine is a tall figure holding a glaive
To Micarafaux’s other side is a hobgoblin with a long sword and shield and some javelin at their back and a crazed looking Human magic user
M steps up and says “Aw, no audience tonight?” to Micarafaux, she scoffs
B complains that he was going to place a bet on them
B calls out to Celestine and says, “How low you’ve fallen, you’re working for this filth?” She looks ay him with a crazed excitement in her eyes
B quietly tells G to try focus on Celestine
G has her hands out in front of her ready to go, B draws his greatsword, K pulls her trident and M alights her hands in blue fire
B tells everyone to stay close to him, M worries about being too close to the action if she stays close to him, he says he’s going to play defence
B uses divine sense but doesn’t get any undead, fiend, or celestial vibes

Shawnat takes the dodge action
Ember takes Aria Guard Ballad of Serenity (Lyre Form) and flies to K’s shoulder
Celestine moves up 30 feet and takes the dodge action
G transforms into her lunar form and runs up to Celestine swinging and missing twice with 15 and 11
Micarafaux casts Dominate person on M who fails her wisdom save with 13+3
B notices M and Micarafaux making intense eye contact with each other and M’s stance has changed slightly but can’t tell something has been cast on her (perception 6) the moves up slightly and takes the dodge action
Onigaroux walks up to G and takes two swings hitting with 23, dealing 5-4 damage and missing with a 9, it roars at her “you’re mine little one”
K notices M’s expression changes from fierce to a little more passive, recognises it as similar to the previous night when Nekros cast Dominate person on her and uses Dispel Magic, snapping her out of it (spell mod 22) M hears “I’ve been waiting for this, I’ve been waiting to kill you” in her head right before the spell breaks. K says “Don’t let her get in your head, we can do this”
Derek moves up to B and gives him the help action
Koar moves up swinging and missing with a 13 for before swinging a second time and hitting with 18, M uses cutting words to reduce it by 1 but it still hits and deals 4-4 damage then swings a third time and misses with 14
T runs up to Koar, swinging with his axe and hitting with 21 dealing 13 slashing and fire damage to him, swings a second time and misses with 18 then uses flurry of blows missing with his horns with an 18 and again with a 12
M moves up yo beside B and casts Antagonise on Celestine who fails her wisdom save with 6 and takes 11 psychic damage and forces her to swing at Koar but misses with a 9

Round 2

Shawnat casts firebolt at G hitting with 22 and dealing 2-4 damage
Ember gives K the help action
Celestine uses dreadful aspect leaving M and Derek frightened (Wisdom save M 7, K 19, Ember, T & G nat 20, B 13, Derek 9)
G uses Enlarge and swings twice at Celestine missing both times with 13 and 15
Micarafaux uses Vicious Suggestion on M hitting with 25 and dealing 18-13 psychic damage, M uses cutting words and reduces the damage further to 14, M hears “Aw, running away, are we?” in her head
B moves up to Koar and lifts him up (Athletics 15 vs 11) and throws him at Micarafaux (athletics 22) and deals 11 damage to both of them
Onigaroux swings at G hitting with 24 and dealing 5-3 damage, then sings again, missing with 13
T Moves up to Koar and swings, missing with 18+ 1 from Auspicious Warning, then swings again, missing with a nat 1 but rerolls with a luck point, hitting with a 27 and dealing 11 slashing/fire damage then uses flurry of blows, missing twice with 12 and 18
M runs 30 feet from Celestine and attempts to shake off the frightened effect but fails with a wisdom save of 12, then uses Mind Sliver on Koar who fails the int save with 9 and takes 6 psychic damage and has to subtract 1d4 from his next saving throw and gives T bardic inspiration, shouting out “Show them why he calls you the Bull Breaker!”

Round 3

Micarafaux whispers something to Shawnat who then casts Fireball on M who passes the dex save with 20 taking 15 fire damage setting her and the wooden palisades by her on fire
Ember gives K the help action
Celestine swings at B missing with 15 then swings again and hits with 26 10-3 damage
G is pissed and swipes at Celestine, missing twice with 15 and 17 the uses action surge, swinging again and hitting with 19, dealing 12 slashing damage then misses again with 15
Micarafaux tries to cast something on T who manages to shake it off with a wisdom save of 15+6 from bardic
B uses his Clawshot Sigil on Shawnat who fails the strength save with 7 and it pulled right up to B who then them with a 12 and deals 12 slashing damage
Onigaroux casts Cone of Cold, hitting G, B, K, M, Ember and Derek, G makes the con save with 14+3 and takes half damage 22 cold damage, M fails with 9 but takes half damage due to cold resistance but is still knocked out before immediately being brought up again by Phoenix's Resilience with 7hp, B (nat 1 rerolled with inspo to 5), K (6 rerolled with inspo to 10), Ember (9) and Derek (7) all take 45 cold damage, killing Derek and knocking Ember unconscious. After casting the spell Onigaroux shrinks in size. M uses Hellish Rebuke at level 2 on Onigaroux who fails the dex save with 2 and takes 16 fire damage
K casts Wither and Bloom at 4th level cantered on T, targeting Shawnat, Micarafaux and Celestine, Koar fails the con save with 17-4, and takes 17 necrotic damage, leaving him bloodied, Micarafaux also fails with a nat 1 and takes full damage, Celestine fails with 13 and also takes full damage, Shawnat makes the save with 16, M uses cutting words, reducing it by 1 but still passes and takes 8 necrotic damage but still leaving them bloodied. B is then able to roll a hit dice and regains 6hp
Koar ties to Shield Bash T but misses with 15, trying again and hitting with 18, dealing 7 damage and he fails his strength save with 11 and is knocked prone then takes a swing with his long sword at T hitting with a nat 20 and dealing 13 slashing damage
T stands up and swings at Koar, missing with 10, swinging again and hitting with 24, dealing 12 slashing/fire damage then uses Flurry of blows, missing twice with 10 and 11, then uses action surge, missing with 16 then hitting with 27, dealing 15 damage and takes Koar’s head off with the swing
M still can’t shake frightened (wis save nat 1) then fires a healing arrow at, hitting her with a nat 20 and healing her for 14 hp

Round 4

Shawnat uses Misty Step to the back corner of the pit then casts Ice Storm on T who makes his dex save with 19 and takes 5 bludgeoning damage and 3 cold damage thanks to cold resistance and leaves the area around him as difficult terrain until next round
Ember succeeds a death save with 16
Celestine casts Blinding Smite on her weapon then swings twice at B, missing with 17 and 14
G swipes at Celestine missing with 15 then hitting with 20 dealing 18 slashing damage to her. Celestine maintains concentration with a 15 con save. G then uses Portal Fang to Teleport over to Shawnat
Micarafaux’s eyes flash as she casts Phantasmal Force on T who fails his int save with 7, K recognises it as what Lunae did to her during the chase (perception 17) T grabs his head and looks at everyone around him, taking a step back and saying “Why are you all her?”
B uses Acid Breath on Onigaroux and Celestine, Onigaroux fails with a 6 dex save and takes 12 acid damage and Celestine succeeds with 16 and takes 6 acid damage while maintaining concentration with a 21 con save
Onigaroux runs to K and swipes with his glaive, hitting with 24 and dealing 9-3 slashing damage to her then misses its second with 10
K summons a flame blade and swings at Onigaroux hitting with 17 and dealing 13 fire damage
T runs past Celestine who takes a swing at him, missing with 8 then runs past B who also gets an attack of opportunity and slaps him on the ass with a Talisman of Dispelling, T stumbles as mental clarity returns to him and he says “I’m really fucking tired of these mind games” then spends a ki point of Step of the Wind and dashes back up to Micarafaux and swings at her hitting with a 27 and dealing 13 slashing/fire damage, swinging again, missing with 13 but uses a luck point to take another swing and hits with a 17 dealing another 11 slashing/fire damage
M goes to cast Chaos bolt at Micarafaux but is counterspelled by Shawnat and fails the wisdom save again with a 10

Round 5

Shawnat casts a cone of cold on G who makes her con save with 19 and takes 20 cold damage and looks clearly frightened by the giant wolf Dwarf in front of him
Ember gets a nat 20 on their death save, getting up with one hp and flies over to M to give her the help action and shifts into echoweaver form
Celestine steps in front of B and swings at him, missing with a nat 1 and swings again hitting with a nat 20 dealing 12-3 slashing damage and 24 radiant damage to him, knocking him unconscious
G swings at Shawnat, hitting with 12 and dealing 15 slashing damage then swinging again and hitting with 21 dealing another 15 slashing damage, tearing at his throat and beheading him then uses Time Step. Everything slows for her and her vision becomes sepia toned, in the bleaches she sees a giant wolf in the bleaches as it opens its mouth to speak and says “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you miss this much” She blinks and the wolf is gone, hearing Gwenzaline walking behind her in the arena, inspecting Micarafaux, T and Celestine before stepping over B’s body. G says “Yeah, I’m not at my best this time” Gwenzaline yells back at G “Get out of your head Gwinri” and points to Onigaroux saying “The mage should have been the first one you killed, that one should have been second!” Then points to Micarafaux and says “This one’s the most dangerous one...” The points at T and says, “But this one should have been in her way the entire time” She then points to M and says, “That’s just unfortunate” Gwenzaline then kneels in front of G and says, “Which one are you targeting next?” G says she’s going for Onigaroux and G says “That’s a good choice, I would put yourself between the woman and the feral creature, I have a feeling she’s going to attack the downed Dragonborn” Then walks across to T and says “This one is healthy enough to deal with her for now. Choose wisely Gwinri” G asks if Micarafaux is still the most dangerous right now. Gwenzaline says “She has the strongest reliable attack” The points at Onigaroux and says, “That one is almost out of magic” Then to Celestine and says “She’s got an ongoing spell” G says she hopes T can hold out and Gwenzaline says he’ll be fine
Micarafaux uses Psychic Blade and stabs T missing with 13
B fails a death save with 5
Onigaroux enlarges itself
Baltoc joins the fight
K uses Healing word on B for 5 hp then hits Onigaroux with her flame blade hitting with 21 and dealing 13 fire damage
T hits Micarafaux with a 19 dealing 13 slashing/fire damage, swing again and hits with 18, dealing another 14 then uses flurry of blows, attacking with his horns for 23 dealing 8 damage plus 3 fire, hits again with his horns for 23 and another 8 piercing damage and 6 fire damage
Baltoc swings at Onigaroux, missing with 8 then hitting with 20 dealing 4 damage
Micarafae shoots a healing arrow at K hitting with 22 and healing her for 10 then throws a dagger at Onigaroux missing with 13 then fails her saving throw again with 10

Round 6

Ember gives M the help action
Celestine swings at B, saying “Why won’t you stay down” but misses with 14 then swings again hitting with 26 and dealing 8-3 damage downing him again then heads to T
G appears by Onigaroux and swipes at them hitting with 17, dealing 16 slashing damage then misses with a nat 1, rerolling with inspiration to 24 and dealing another 11 damage
Micarafaux attacks T but misses with a nat 1
B fails a death save with 9
Onigaroux swings at K hitting with 20 and dealing 8 damage then misses with 13
K uses Healing Word at 2nd level on B healing him for 9hp then swings at Onigaroux with her flame blade missing with 11
T swings at Micarafaux hitting with 27 and dealing 9 damage, swings again missing with 14 and uses a luck point to reroll, hitting with 24 and dealing another 9 damage then uses flurry of blows, hitting with his horns with a 27 and dealing 7 piercing plus 3 fire damage before striking again hitting with 25 and dealing 7 piercing plus 2 fire damage
Baltoc swings twice both missing with 9 and 15
M casts Chaos Bolt at 4th level hitting Micarafaux with a 19 and dealing 27 force damage, rolling 2 4s allowing her to roll an addition attack at Celestine hitting with 22 and dealing 31 thunder damage to her then moves 5 feet towards Onigaroux and throws a dagger at them hitting with 22 and dealing 3 piercing damage. Celestine makes her con save with 19 and maintains concentration

Round 7

Ember flies near to Onigaroux and uses Resonant Pulse, Onigaroux fails their con save with a nat 1 and takes 5 thunder damage and is deafened until the end of their next turn
Celestine Swipes at T hitting with 17 and dealing 9 slashing plus 19 radiant damage then missing with 12. T makes his con save with 17
G swipes at Onigaroux, missing with 15 then hitting with 17, dealing 14 damage and beheading them then runs beside Micarafaux
Micarafaux attacks G hitting with 20 and dealing 21 psychic damage downing her as she hears “Nothing but a failure” in M’s voice in her head
B runs to Micarafaux and Celestine and casts Zaolu’s Edge then attacks Micarafaux, missing with a nat 1 then swinging again hitting with a nat 20 dealing 30 damage and beheading her. As she falls, she explodes into golden ichor and shadow energy, B takes 21 psychic damage (con save 13) and is knocked out. T takes 9 damage (19 con save) and they both get blown back. B wakes up in Zaolu’s forest and sees a familiar mechanical squirrel which he follows and sees Zaolu watching the fight on a tv like device and says “Boy, why do you keep falling down in this fight?” B says, “Listen a guy hit me...” Zaolu interrupts and tells him to shut up and sit down and hands him some popcorn which he declines. Zaolu points at T and says “This guy, he’s got 1 hp left, that’s crazy he should be dead” B says he’s got more than that because he saved his ass and Zaolu seems confused and says “Maybe I was thinking of an alternate reality or something” B says “Give me credit where credit is due, I kept that son of a bitch up!” Zaolu asks where his forge is and B says he’s doing things and Zaolu says he needed it so he could upgrade it for him, B says he wasn’t supposed to be here right now and Zaolu tells him it was the perfect opportunity and tells him to bring George to him. Zaolu puts a hand on his shoulder and helps him succeed a death save
K moves up to B and (Zaolu leans over to B and says “You know one of her spells is find steed, that’s stupid right? That’s a spell you don’t have” B asks why he would need it and Zaolu says “I don’t know, would be cool. I could build you something” B says he’s very confused right now) and uses Wither and Bloom on Celestine who fails her wisdom save with 8 and takes 8 necrotic damage and makes her con save with 15 maintaining her concentration (Zaolu leans over to B and asks how she keeps managing to keep that spell up and asks why he doesn’t use blinding smite, B says he doesn’t know that spell and Zaolu says maybe he can help with that.) allowing T to roll a hit dice and heals for 12 hp
T swings at Celestine, missing with a nat 1 then hitting with 27 and dealing 15 damage to her
Baltoc moves up and uses Terrifying Glare on Celestine who makes her save with 19
M shoots a firebolt at Celestine, missing with 15 and finally makes her wisdom saving throw with 13 and moves up to beside K (Zaolu throws the popcorn and exclaims that she finally did it) then throws a dagger at her hitting with 24 and dealing 4 piercing damage

Round 8

Ember flies up and gives the help action to B
Celestine swings at T hitting with 21 and dealing 6 slashing + 15 radiant, T makes his con save with 19 then Celestine swings again and hits with a nat 20 dealing 19 slashing plus 30 radiant damage knocking him out
G makes her death save with 16
B makes his death save with 11
K swings at Celestine with her flame blade, hitting with 23 and dealing 12 fire damage then casts Healing Word on G healing her for 4 hp
T fails a death save with 7
Baltoc swings twice at Celestine missing with 7 and 17
M runs up tp Celestine and swings at her with Blue Flame Blade, hitting with 18 and dealing 6 piercing damage and 12 fire damage and taking her head off

Post Combat

M runs to T and jabs a healing arrow into him, healing him for 9 damage, he grumbles and asks if she just stabbed him, M says “With a healing arrow, you’re welcome”
K uses Healing word on B healing him for 7 hp
Baltoc puts an arm around T and says “We dd it” K thanks him for the help and he says he’s got to go find a way to unpetrify people M says they will try find some clerics or something to help with that
M gets her fan back from Micarafaux’s body as B picks up her head
Ember lands on his shoulder and points down and B sees a green and gold ichor leaking from Micarafaux’s head and sees the liquid collecting on the ground starting to move towards him (Investigation 18)
B uses the last bit of flame from his sword and touches it to the forming puddle causing it to sizzle out
Ember then taps him on the cheek and draws his attention to the same slime-like liquid crawling from the neck wound up towards his hand
M Stabs it with The Ash Song using Blue Flame Blade
As she does B lets go and the head turns to face M and screams as it burns away, and M hears in her head “All is not as it seems”
M tries to figure out what that could mean but is too freaked out, she looks at the group and feels concerned but can’t pick why (nat 1 insight) and it sends her into a panic attack (nat 1 wisdom save)
B starts rifling through the pockets of the fallen foes
M falls to the ground shaking and Baltoc catches her, looks her in the eyes and says, “Are you ok Micarafae?” before T pushes him aside and scoops M up in his arms
