Xeranova’s Room
- M tells X that Nekros will probably come to look for Zalthea, X says she thinks she’ll be alright, but to come check on her just in case
- M asks if she’s sure because the last time she said she’d be fine Zalthea went on a rampage X says “Let’s just say I’m more equipped to deal with this situation, if it happens again” M says “I’d prefer it didn’t”
- X says “I’ll make you a promise, it won’t end like last time” M says “But there are still many other ways that it could end that a bad”
- X says “It’s always fun when someone is immune to being charmed. They’re always scary when they can’t be charmed or frightened” M says “I wouldn’t place any bets on Nekros being any more susceptible than Zalthea was”
- X says “I have my tricks, do not worry, I have my ways. Like I may have mentioned before, my sister was the fighter in the family, but I learned quite a lot myself" She holds a hand out to show that she can grow and retract her nails at will
- M can tell that she’s very confident and despite her tone she seems very serious (15 insight)
- M says “I have it on good authority that he is capable of some heinous things” X sighs and says “Fine, if it makes you feel any better, tomorrow I will come visit you all and I’ll spend the day, deal?”
- M says “And if he shoes up this evening?” X thinks for a moment before saying “Tonight I need to be by myself, but I will make this place look abandoned, at least for one night. Let him have his rein, let him come in and discover what he needs to, but he won’t find me. Don’t worry dear, I’ve got this. For real this time”
- M says “I swear to the gods, if we have to come and rescue you again, there is going to be hell to pay”
- X says “Maybe I like being rescued”
- The Ash Song pulses briefly, M can’t ascertain why (6 insight) and puts her hand on it thinking “I don’t know what that means”
- M asks if X still has the potion she gave her last night and X produces it seemingly from thin air (20 sleight of hand)
- M tells X if she drinks that it will knock her out for an hour, but she’ll wake up feeling like she’s had a full rest and that it’s hers if she wants it
- X says “That’s very interesting, there’s a proper time to use this, wouldn’t you say? And I have a feeling it’s not quite yet”
- M says “If you wanted to feel a bit better a bit quicker, it’s there, and I know where to get more” X thanks her and M turns for the door, stating “Now to figure out what to do with this body” and gives her a nod before heading up to find K and G
The Starlight Lounge
- Garrin is trying to tell a joke, saying “My mum once gave me this book on battle tactics, but the only thing I conquered was nap time” M pity laughs and K hoots from across the room having also heard it. Garrin seems pleased with himself
- M approaches Garrin and G and Garrin asks “Micarafae, how was your meeting?” M responds with a sigh and says “She’s a stubborn one” Garrin says “Yeah, coulda told you that one” M says “Yeah, I figured” and Garrin adds “She also does whatever she wants, very rarely does she just do stuff for other people without asking for anything, yaknow?”
- M asks what the plan with the body is and K comes to join the group
- Garrin says he overhead the maintenance guy saying they could maybe tweak the water in the magical baths to make it acidic and dissolve the body but they would have to close the luxury baths for the day
- M says she would suggest people not stick around as Nekros may come looking for Zalthea and says they should only do what is necessary and then send everyone home
- Garrin says there’s lots of trades-folk around so they can get things repaired in no time whenever
- Garrin says a lot of people think the baths are a whorehouse until they see it
- M says she has an idea for getting rid of the body but she has no idea if it will actually work
- Garrin asks what her idea is and she says "Let’s just say I have some friends in some fiery places and I may be able to perform an impromptu cremation, so to say” Garrin looks puzzled, scratches the back of his head and says “I mean, yeah, if that’s what you want, makes no difference to me”
- M says “I really have no idea if it’s going to work though, but if it doesn’t, I know Kree has some friends in decomposition-y places”
- M messages G and asks what Gwenzaline’s domain is, G remembers that her domains are speeds, the moon, time and travel (history 15) and asks if any of those would be particularly useful for getting rid of a body M says some accelerated decomposition could be helpful
- M proposes that the three of them all try reach out to their gods and potentially work together to dispose of Zalthea
- G remembers also that Gwenzaline hasn’t been the most receptive as the other gods seem to have been, likening her to a parent you have to prove yourself to, something which she doesn’t feel G has done yet.
- They head up to where the body is and each try reaching out to their gods and M gives a bardic to K and G
- M wonders if the three of them holding hands might have any impact seeing as they can feel a little static when they do touch other champions
- M puts a hand on The Ash Song and the other on K who then takes G’s hand while Garrin takes her other hand
- M notices the buzzing/static-y feeling is more intense when more of them are touching likening it to how S described it when she was trapped in the stone and that it would probably get stronger the more champions there were
- M holds The Ash Song and thinks “Can I get some help cremating a body?” (Charisma 9) and hears the faint cry of a Phoenix but nothing more. She shrugs and looks to K
- K tries to reach out to Kalista, but she’s too busy thinking about being a giant mammoth and how cool that was and can’t focus enough to actually reach out (nat 1)
- Garrin closes his eyes and whispers a prayer to Tyr (6)
- G reaches out to Gwenzaline and thinks “Please help me spend up the decomposition of this body” and hears a sigh in response as her eyes start glowing silver and everyone hears a loud whip crack and watch the body be reduced to a pile of dust within 10 seconds
- G’s eyes dull slightly but still have a faint silver glow
- M quietly thanks Gwenzaline, making sure it’s loud enough for G to hear so hopefully Gwenzaline can also hear it
- M and K notice that G also has crescent moons in her eyes (M 21 and K 17 perception)
- M pulls out her fan and goes to cast gust on the dust pile, Garrin tries to stop her but isn’t quick enough and the Zalthea dust is scattered throughout the room. M seems pleased with herself
- G feels a little tired, nothing major, but feels as though Gwenzaline had to take a little energy from her to make it work
On Lunae’s trail
- J tells B it seems like they’re heading quite far out of town, B says she seems to be heading a lot further out than he expected her to
- C reminds that she has invisibility and says something doesn’t feel right about where they are heading
- They proceed into the forest getting the sense that is tricky and won’t be as easy as it seems
- B tries to see if he can find any clues (investigation nat 1)
Ravenswood
- Everyone hears a large explosion, B can see debris flying over Ravenswood and a geyser spewing water
- M, K and G feel a minor earthquake
- B can’t make out anything from a distance (3 perception) but J notices something came out of the water
- B tells C to keep looking for Lunae but to not engage or let her know he’s tracking her and as soon as he finds her to go find B, C taps The Band of the Lost and Found on his arm and heads off
- B and J rush back to town
- Where there was a well there is now a giant geyser that is flooding the town square
- B feels some vague magic coming from where the water is spewing out (arcana 10 + 3 bardic)
- B gets a sense that someone has placed a trap on the well to channel water to this well (13 investigation)
- Feels like there may be a way to stop it if they can get under it, or maybe they could plug it up but doesn’t seem like it will help much but he can smell that it is salt water
- M, still holding onto K turns and looks to the group saying they should see what that was and telling Garrin to stay there so K doesn’t have to rescue him again
- Sees a claw punch out of a stall and s Shab pops out in front of him, but does not notice the one also popping out behind him (7 perception)

Round 1
- Shab 1 hits B with 23 for 16 damage, he uses adamantine bulwark to reduce damage to 1then swings with its other claw, hitting with 21 for 14 damage
- J uses shadowvine aura and then uses thornlash hitting shab 2 with 17 for 14 necrotic damage
- Shab 2 closes with J tries to stab her with its leg, missing with 16
- B attacks shab 1 with his silver sword hitting with 21 for 8 slashing then hits again with 26 for 6 slashing
Round 2
- The rest of the group run in
- M notices there is water where there shouldn’t be and giant shark crabs (perception 7) and also tells G she’s got this, remembering she’s not a fan of water
- G manages to avoid having a panic attack, bolstered by M’s words of support (wisdom save 9 + bardic)
- K takes flight, hovering in the air behind the shab trying to see if it’s got any weaknesses (18 animal handling) and is able to tell that it is resistant to force and cold damage, it’s joints are weak and if it is hit with a crit it loses the resistances and that it can only walk full speed if it’s walking sideways (like a crab) and she calls it all out to the group
- K uses chill touch, missing with a 10
- Shab 1 avoids J’s vines and hits B with a nat 20 doing 22 damage
- M uses Antagonise on shab 1 it fails wisdom save and dealing 10 psychic damage, giving it disadvantage on its next attack
- J moves away from shab 2, and it goes to attack, she uses flickering shadow duplicate, and it misses with 12, then uses thornlash, missing with 14
- G Uses lunar transformation and runs behind shab 2, swinging at it with her claws, hitting with 19 and dealing 15 slashing, attacking again and hitting with 24 dealing another 14 slashing
- Shab 2 fails it’s dex save with 13 and taking 5 necrotic, losing 10 feet of movement, rolls 19 con against spores and saving. It then hits G with 23 dealing 17 damage
- B pulls out deploys it and gives K advantage on her next attack
Round 3
- K uses wither and bloom, both Shabs fail con save and take 8 necrotic, Shab 2 is looking rough, and heals B for 16 (10 + 6) and flies over to B hovering 15 feet in the air
- Shab 1 fails it’s dex save, taking 9 necrotic damage and having movement reduced, 5 fire damage from the crucible but saves against spores, tries to grapple B, missing twice
- M uses Vicious mockery on Shab 2 it saves and takes no damage
- J uses thornlash on Shab 2, hitting with a nat 20 dealing 20 damage and removing its resistances
- G attacks Shab 2 hitting with 27 dealing 12 slashing, hitting again with 20 and killing it and moves up beside Shab 1
- B attacks Shab 1 hitting with a nat 20 and dealing 13 slashing, swinging again and missing with 15 and uses the orb to give K advantage
Round 4
- Althea runs in from the north (10 initiative)
- K uses flame blade, hitting with 17 and dealing 10 fire damage
- Shab 1 fails dex save taking 6 necrotic, takes 6 fire damage from the orb and fails it’s con save taking 3 necrotic then hits B with 23, dealing 9 damage and grappling B, trying to bite him but missing with 11
- M casts dissonant whispers at 2nd level, Shab 1 saves with nat 20, taking 5 damage, M throws her dagger hitting with 20 and dealing 5 damage
- J uses thornlash, hitting with 18 and hitting for 12, killing Shab 1
Round 5
- Althea runs over asking what happened and asks if anyone needs healing, B says he does, and she heals him for 27
- Water spreads out further, G backs up trying to get away from the water
- B tells everyone that they need to dig down, M asks if there’s another way to get underground knowing there are tunnels that lead to The Iron Pit
- Another Shab bursts from the geyser (21 initiative) and takes 29 falling damage
- Alya runs in from the north (11)
- M remembers hearing of these creatures that would come out at night and clean and take the trash down through a network of tunnels under the town (history 21)
- M shares this with the group and asks Althea and Alya if they know of anything, Althea says there is an access tunnel in one of the southern buildings
- M runs into the center building and looks around, (6 investigation) and cannot see it in there
- Shab 3 attacks Althea hitting with 23 and dealing 15 damage, grappling her and trying to bite her but missing with 15 and takes 1 fire damage from the orb
- K attacks with flame blade Shab 3 hitting with 20 and dealing 4 fire damage
- M dashes and runs into the east building, looking for the access and sees an unusual cupboard space she’s sure is it and uses message to tell G to come to that building
- Alya invokes her oath keepers vow, her next weapon attack deals an additional 2d8 radiant damage on a hit and the creature hit had disadvantage on its next attack against creatures other than her, hits Shab 3, swings with her radiant scimitar, hitting with 24, dealing 5 slashing and 14 radiant
- J dashes, running down to join M
- Althea tries to get out of the grapple (23) and swings at the Shab hitting with 17, dealing 8 damage and missing her second attack with nat 1
- G runs across the courtyard and into the building, opening the attic and finding there is a trap door in there, trying to push the pantry (strength 12) but can’t move it much
- B attacks the Shab missing with 15, swinging again and hitting with 18 dealing 7 slashing
Round 6
- Shab 3 grapples Althea with 25, dealing 18 damage, trying to bite her but missing with 10, Shab 3 takes 2 fire damage and makes con save against spores
- K hits the Shab with 21 and dealing 9 fire damage
- M tries looking for a plank to use as leverage, finding many, in the floor (nat 1 investigation) then stabs the pantry with the ash song hitting with 21, setting the pantry on fire, the heat from the flame drying off G and they can both smell burning meats and flour as it burns away the pantry and trap door, seeing a metal ladder leading down and a faint green/blue glow from within and heads down the ladder
- Alya swings at the Shab missing with 11, hitting with 17 on her second attack, dealing 4 slashing
- Althea tries to hit the Shab, missing with 12, then hitting with 26, dealing 11 damage
- J Moves into the building, making it to the top of the ladder
- G climbs down the ladder into an oval stone tunnel that seems to be meticulously maintained and very clean with magical glowing lights lining the tunnel walls. G then dashes, making it to an intersection, going west and realising she went the wrong way (4 investigation)
- B swings at the Shab twice, missing both times with 15 and 12
Round 7
- Shab saves against halo of spores then takes 6 fire damage, killing it
- K takes flight, surveying the area from overhead (11 investigation) she can see most of the stuff in the area is flooded, but there is a cart that they could try to cover the geyser with if they moved it on top of it. She tries to move it but can’t make it budge (9 strength) and calls out to other to help
- M messages G to ask if that’s the right way, G says no, M dashes to the intersection, looking down the tunnel to the north, seeing water dripping through the cobblestones above almost like rain, obscuring her view, she takes the rest of her movement further down the tunnel
- Alya moves to the south
- Althea moves to help K push the cart (20 strength) moving it a little and K joins in (7 strength) and are not quite able to move it any meaningful distance
- J goes down the ladder, dashing to be behind M
- G turns back, dashing up and passing M and J, seeing the water and freezes (wisdom save 1)
- B moves to help Althea and K, (B 17, K 17, Althea 23 strength) and push it towards the geyser, B takes 3 damage from the force of the water (11 con save, K 17) but covering the geyser causing the water to bubble out from the sides, spreading the water out further, drenching G underground as she panics
Round 8
- K stand on top of the cart, essentially surfing it to keep it in place
- M holds her action telling G when she moves, she will try to keep the water off her
- J gives the help action to G
- Althea gives the help action to K
- M casts gust at the ceiling, creating an air umbrella and keeping G dry
- G runs up to the bottom of the well, opening into a circular room, looks up and sees a portal of a swirling ocean looking almost as though it’s to another plane and sees 5 cobblestones are cycling through different glowing colours, G hits one with her pickaxe, hitting it with 19 and it explodes, causing the portal to start to go from blue to blood red
- K gets sent into the air (11 strength save) B gets sent to the side (12) Althea is fine (20)
- A Shab burst up through the cart, showering coins and taking 45 damage (4 initiative)
- Another Shab follows through after taking 26 falling damage (8)
- G swings again, smashing a second, the portal reddening further and can see the Shab get ejected though the portal
- Shab 4 takes 1 fire damage from the orb and failing its con save against spores, dealing 4 necrotic
- B swings at Shab 4 hitting with 19 and dealing 5 damage, missing with his second
