6.2-2, SF 548

Created by

There was once an empire that grasped the stars within their hands. For beings such as them, names and forms meant little, but they are known now as the Creators. For them, the laws of reality meant little, but they still could not create matter from nothing. They required energy, on a scale unimaginable to those who came later. As such, they built a series of solar generators, entire stars clad in metal to channel the power they produced. Solid-Shell Dyson Spheres.   It was inevitable that some would want to live on these marvels of engineering, fiction made real on a scale that dwarfed anything but the Homeworld. A standard Dyson Sphere however, is a poor supporter of life. A new Sphere was constructed. Set in a distant corner of the empire, residents and visitors could explore the surface of a world larger than any other in existance. Massive beam arrays sent power to the eight miniature stars that circled the sphere, providing light to the outer surface, and potent metaphysical field generators allowed citizens to live in comfort and tailor their experience how they wanted. While the extreme poles were off limits, housing the massive interstellar beam arrays that allowed the sphere to offload its surplus energy to the empire’s power grid, almost the entire rest of the sphere was, albeit sparsely, populated.   Nothing however, lasts forever. Did the empire fall? Was the sphere abandoned? All that is sure, is that the Creators left, and that we remained.   Enough of ancient history however, we have more important matters to attend to. Your presence raises some rather disturbing questions, not that anybody seems to realise it. You were created for a purpose, and I believe that it would behoove us to uncover it. Your true mind will likely be stored in the vaults of the Creators, a network of underground cities buried deep out of our reach in the iron core of the world.   For now though, just focus on keeping Olrias away from the southern rune tower. The current primary council aren’t great, but at least we’re stable. I dread to think what would happen if he worked out how to join.
