Sanguine Order
Culture
The Siblings are a mixed bag. Many Hunters are gregarious and outgoing, if arrogant, revelling in their superiority to become bold and unashamed. Others become hyper-focused misanthropes, seeing only hunts and duties. And then there's everyone in-between. This leads to a complex picture of the hunters, as they tend to not overlap much making a global identity of what any given hunter is like hard, despite many strong assumptions existing in each region. In Urban environments or around guild locations, Hunters have a far more clear picture, that of unpredictability. Hunters are all infected with the Blood, and whatever family it is from it drives them mad. Urbanites have heard stories of Hunters "Donning the Red Hood" (Hunters are identified by long red cloaks, with deep hoods, which are raised when preparing to finish a hunt) as they stride into town. Those more informed, or that live near to where Hunters are Adopted (Adopted: To be given the Blood), know the risks of Ferals. A Feral Hunter has given into the Blood predatory instincts, growing more powerful, but going mad in the process.
History
The Sanguine Order was founded primarily to deal with the threat of monsters in the Eastern Cliffs region. In the South West of the Cliffs region, bordering with the Crucible, the Darkwoods was being force back as local-governments sought to expand agricultural land and thus taxation as part of the 12th Centaury movement. This westward expansion caused both the Dark Elves of the Darkwwods alongside the many other less-cultured creatures of that land to mount counter invasions, burning back frontier villages and farms. At the time using an army to combat this unintentional pseudo-war was un-tenable. Armies were slow, easily scared and struggled against the unique challenges of fighting creatures which are so much more individually powerful, even if there were far fewer. Haemomancy proved a viable solution, taking less than 6 years from the inception of the war for a still unknown force to procure or create the Blood. Once created the Order split from local government in under 3 years, after having stabilised the region and as governments sought to stop funding the order such that they could actually profit for the expansion.
From there the Order spread across the Continent, forming the Families based on the powers they each possessed. Roughly 10 years later as the number of hunters dwindled both from accelerated aging and the mortality of their "chosen" profession (It is believed that in truth many of the first hunters were abducted or deceived before being given the blood, though no member of the Hunters has ever been recorded dismissing or supporting such an idea) they agreed upon the Vows of Adoptions, the regulations around who could be given the Blood, how to do so and how to test them prior beyond merely their "mortal" history. It is still unknown why these first Hunters did not know the risks of Ferallity, and is a common child's tale that the first hunters spirits haunting the Blood are what in fact cause the predatory instincts that Hunter have. Due to the lack of planning the first round of Hunters of the second generation had many instances of Ferals, several wiping out entire local guilds. The world demanded that the remaining Order kill these Ferals, destroy their Blood, and create and fund an organisation capable of eradicating Hunters should such a massive number of Ferals ever exist again, thus Birthing the Inquisitors. Whilst the Inquisitors do now exist, and all known Ferals are hunted, it is unknown if the second edict is kept and such is a matter of idle speculation.
The Order now 147 years after the first Sibling are on their 4th and 5th generation, as Hunters bodies struggle to live beyond 40 (though any that should think an elder hunter weak often end up before the Thousand Masked Judge well before said Hunter).
