Move in Perpetual Worlds | World Anvil

Move

Moving is a basic part of living & combat.

Action Elements

  • Gain access to the Movement Increment of ONE type of Movement in which your Movement Increment is 5'/1 Hex or more.
  • You may break up your movement throughout a Round, but traveling a distance greater than your movement Increment or switching the type of movement you are using requires either the use of another Action or a Successful Agility Check to gain access to an additional Movement Increment Distance.
  • You may perform successive Agility Checks to continue gaining movement, but each Agility Check gains +1 Impact Level to the previous.

Example

While attempting to hide from a group of goblins in the edge of a forest you are detected & decided to run away as fast as you can, but spent one of your two actions to through a smoke bomb in your wake. You use your remaining Action to Move, activating your Land Movement Increment of 15'/3 Hexes which you move freely, you then perform a Challenging Agility Check as the terrain is deemed Challenging my the GM. Still feeling you are not far enough away, you continue to run performing a Complicated & the Complex Agility Check Successfully as well. Now 60' away, you can no longer see the goblins & decide to climb a tree & attempt to hide in the forest's canopy, so you perform another Agility Check to switch to your Climbing Movement Increment of 10'/2 Hexes, but you Push on the Difficult Check & your GM decides you are only able to make it up 5'/1 Hex as the penalty. A Push being a Success means that you can either attempt to continue using the Move Action to Climb by performing a Demanding Agility Check or finally stop. You still don't feel far enough away or hidden well enough so you spend your Free Action to be Tough & make your Demanding Agility Check a Careful Check & manage to again use your Climbing Movement Increment Successfully & manage to Climb another 10'/2 Hexes up & there finally decide to stop & wait for the next Round.
