Legacy of the Phengwathben

The Phengwathen, or "The Tickling Shadow", is the closest thing that the Elvish cultures have to a boogeyman. The crimson-skinned legend became so feared, that the crimson color of Agarphen skin is universal seen as a symbol of danger among the other Elvish cultures.

According to legend (or perhaps distorted history), the Phengwathben was a powerful Agarphen alchemist & philosopher born devoid of all emotion. While at the court of a small Arch Fey principality, he became intrigued by the extreme emotions of Arch Fey & kidnapped a jovial Elvish princess &, in an attempt to understand joy, literally tickled her to death as he probed the outer edges of her mind attempting to experience laughter himself.
