Changelings

No one knows when and where they evolved or started to exist, but the Changelings were always met with distrust and fear. These plant based beings can incorporate and decipher DNA of species they devour. They look humanoid, but there are many varieties depending on different environments. They seem to exist solely for the purpose of changing and mutating their surroundings.   The Plantoids prefer to live in small groups and build houses and huts solely for preserving and studying the environment. They can live of photosynthesis and depending on their own plant configuration, on digestion of other living organisms. Their communication with each other happens telepathically, based on am exchange of information and not for social interaction. If a specimen studied humans or other sentient beings, it sometimes chooses to develop vocal cords for communication and it helps with understanding the basics of social interaction. In many human villages, they are treated most of the time with outward hostility, but there have been successful meetings, mostly led by educated humans. Lasankri had over the Age of Gathering not a lot of interaction with plantoids, on the one hand this is, because the plantoids do not seem interested in them at all and on the other hand, because of the areas the Lasankri normally inhabit.   The Horned Wanderers treat them with respect, sometimes even with reverence, because they believe the Changelings are a manifestation of nature itself, nature spirits.
