The Duskfort of Coppaville in Duskshore by the Salt Sea

While there are several ways past the city gates, the options are fewer with the Fort walls. The outer wall is short, but also difficult to climb due to its even limestone surface and lack of portholes. The flanks of the Fort, however, have added structures that surpass the walls: the Almswing facing west, and the East Spire. The wing has no gate to the exteriors, but a ladder may take you to a balcony. The Spire gate tends to be more heavily guarded than the South- and North Gates together, unless it is raining.

The Coin House is the treasury but the most gold is kept hidden beneath the many roofs.

The South Gate opens to a grand Inner Gate, and past it lies the Narrow Garden in front of the centre house called the Chapel. The Open Garden graces the Fort’s northern side, for ceremonies and gatherings. The Ring of Hunters meet here.

The Bellow is a stable, and above it rises the grand three-storied Above, the main house with the Major family apartments. There are secret rooms in the attic, beneath an almost windowless copper roof.

There is also the Guard House between the chapel and the tower. Its halls house both guards and servants.

The members of the Hunters Ring keep to the Outer Stable Yard, an hours walk northwest of the Duskfort.

Guard Force

The walls are manned with Wall Guards of common goblins, trained by the streets of Coppaville in brawling, but by the fort's own action master-at-arms (the Red Captain) in crossbow.

Hall Guards are patrolling the corridors and halsl of the Fort. Typically, they are trusted orcs. Clad in chainmail and carrying both javelins and axes. The Fort has trained them in the latter but not the former. Still, it gives them something to throw at intruders spotted at the end of the hall, before the distance is closed.
