Jiten

The Jiten are a human ethnicity hailing from the southern reaches of the continent of Kidan. Once, they were the people of the small yet prosperous nation of Daseng and ruled over all the lands south of the Breaktooth Mountains , but now they suffer under the thumb of the Douma Imperium.   The Jiten (literally South People in Kidanese) were conquered by the expanding Imperium at the conclusion of the Second Expansion War. Reduced to second class citizens and forbidden from practicing the Kidanese arcane art of memoryweaving, these once proud people are but ghosts of their former selves.   But not all spirits have broken - some actively resist the Imperium's subjugation of Daseng, forming the rebel army 'White Foxes'. The White Foxes exploit the ban on memoryweaving by drawing power from the Meladorian arcane art of starbinding. Starbinding magic cannot be stripped from them via memory theft and doesn't rely on enchanted artifacts that can be confiscated.
