Mikhail Aleki Kekoa (a.k.a. Micah)
A young man from the pacific islands of Samoa. Micah grew up on the beautiful shores of Vatia, a northern village of the Eastern District of American Samoa. Youngest of 8 kids, Micah was raised on the notion of family, and an interconnecting love for his community. As one of the Kekoa’s, Micah has a reputation and a responsibility to those around him. As descendants of Fa’ atiu, Micah’s family inherited the gods power over wind and storms, however, in a very diluted manner.
On one fateful night, Maleko (Micah’s older brother), took Micah with him on a short boat ride to Pola Island. Unfortunately, the pair would never make it to the island, a rogue wave capsized the boat and sunk them beneath the reef, with Maleko using his powers to save the pair and sweep them into an underwater cave. Here a dark presence overtook Micah’s older brother, who would venture deeper into the cave and uncover a casket. Despite Micah’s protests, Maleko opened the casket that happened to contain a disciple and avatar of Whiro. Freed from the clutches of this seal, Aiali’i’s corpse sucks the life force from Maleko to resurrect himself, killing Maleko in the process.
Spared moments before from this fate by Maleko who had returned to his senses, Micah sat in limbo in Pulotu where he is chosen to right the wrongs caused by Maleko’s weakness, by Saveasi’uleo. Elo, along with Fa’ Atiu, magnify Micah’s powers beyond that of his family to prepare him to face Aiali’i and his machinations. Once back in the world of the living, Micah returns to his family with the somber news, and his new responsibility given to him by the gods. His uncle, Hemi Kekoa, a mystic decides to help the young Micah on his journey.
