Once a security officer for a Bio-chem lab. Joe's meta gene was activated by accident when several chemicals were mixed, producing a gene altering gas that was lethal to all but him. Joe managed to save the scientists from the gas, but his meta gene had been activated as well as his other genes being altered by breathing the gas in.
Though his powers are still developing, Joe has access to Super strength, Super durability, and flight.
Joe is famously difficult to get along with due to an abrasive personality and an overinflated ego.
