Balefire Records

Archetype: Workshop

Workshops, the counterpart of Homesteads, exist almost completely in the Autumn World. Like Homesteads, changelings use them to produce chimerical items, to the point where the balefire’s Glamour is more often used to fuel the creation of goods rather than the creator’s personal reserves.   Benefit: A Workshop grants its freeholders -2 difficulty on Craft rolls while they reside within. It also creates chimerical goods and items, using the rules found on Changeling: The Dreaming 20th Anniversary Edition p.317.

Aspect:

A sleek new recording studio in Brooklyn.

Appearance:

Woodpaneled walls that smell of whiskey and savory cigar smoke, with six different studios. In each one of the mixing booths is a separate contraption that is hooked into the mixing tables made of crystal. The Glamour created from the master recordings of Big Lou's artists is pressed into one-of-a-kind vinyls that he can use in place of dross (each one is worth about 8 dross) or that he can use to fuel other chimerical items made within the studio.

Sanctuary: 4
Resources: 5
Passages: 3
Powers: Glamour to Dross (••)
Quirks: Sometimes to make music means to become the music. People who sleep within Balefire Records often have strange dreams where they become part of the instruments themselves, helping to make the notes sing. They normally wake up a day or so later from this strange dream.   Interestingly, music recorded during one of these episodes sounds better than any other time.
