The Venomous Duck

INTRODUCTION

Nestled in the village of Yol, The Venomous Duck serves not only as the local watering hole, but also as a rest stop for weary travelers heading either to or from the Port City of Safron. Started as a safe spot for genetically modified creatures (Cat-folk, Lapines, Lutrinian, etc.), the inn now welcomes all races. During the busy travel seasons, one might even come across a Thri-Kreen sipping away at a glass of honey nectar.

This two level establishment houses a large bar/dining area on the ground floor and guest rooms above. With six private rooms, two larger rooms and one common room, guests have a variety of lodging choices. The private rooms come with breakfast served in the rooms, the larger rooms come with breakfast served in the dining area, and common bunk guests are welcome to pay for whatever meal they choose.

• Barkeep & Half-Owner - Mugsy Butters - Male Simian from the Port Safron. Middle aged. Unusually cheerful for one of his kind.
• Head Waiter & Half-Owner - Thresh Longfoot - Male Lapine. Young and energetic. Often encourages patron to try his newest blend of squeezed vegetable concoctions.
• Barmaid - Pih Strongarm - Female Half-Orc. Her flirty manners often get her higher tips from drunken patrons.
• Barmaid - Gurden Deepbane - Female Dwarf. Brooding, but caring. She 'takes no guff and gives no quarter'.
• Cook - Milksel 'Milky' Petra - Male Half-Elf. He has been with Mugsy & Thresh since they opened and knows every recipe by heart.
• Wash Boy - Maundu - Male dwarven youth. His family were taken by the slavers a year or so back. He is working hard to earn enough for a strong axe, so that he can find where they are being held and rescue them.

Frequent Patrons

Nager - An elderly cat-folk, grey in coloring and friendly demeanor.  Very curious about newcomers and has a tendency to knock the cups off the tables with those that he is speaking with for no reason.
Brody Le Doux - A middle aged human Wiccan representative of the local Tri-Moon Coven.  She smells of sweet herbs and starry nights.  She is cautious of new comers, as they can often be judgmental of Wiccans.
Jax Plowshare - A spry Warforged that is currently in the employee of several local farmers, assisting with plating, plowing and picking.  He has a pension for bad puns and dirty limericks that can be cute when delivered in his monotonous tone.
Regina the True - The local constable and head of the militia.  She is inquisitive in nature and is always looking for anyone to assist with the local bandit problem.  Though is middle aged, for a human, she is still very perceptive and cunning.
Oncut - A lizardfolk rice farmer.  He has a good sized plot of land on the outskirts of Yol.  He is also concerned about the local bandit problem and may have seen the direction they normally come from (towards the ruins of of old brewery).
