"Arise our Nation, defend your Fatherland"

Original text   Arise, arise, defend our holy claim!
Arise our nation, defend our sacred land!
One we love no matter what!
Your glory is what we should strive for,
You, our sacred *Graviant land!
You’ve raised Your head up high,
Shining brighter than the sun!
In the end, in betrayal You end,
By those who have torn and sold You!
Arise, dear Fatherland,
Awaits your victory,
For which, we all shall fight,
Go in your name and fight and die!
Rise!
Along the eagle we,
with hardened, ready souls,
For you we shall stand,
For you shall all stand
For you, our sacred Fatherland!
For you we shall stand,
For you shall all stand
For you, our sacred Fatherland!
In glory we all bask,
Taught to remember our father’s deeds!
We will stand and,
Die for our Homeland,
Never yielding to our foes!
We will stand and,
Die for our Homeland,
Never yielding to our foes!
Arise, arise, defend our holy claim!
Arise our nation, break from your heavy chains!
Victory is called upon!
Time to battle those who wish to fight,
with our heads and flags raised high!
And in our moment of,
Truth, we shall cry atop,
Atop, our very lungs,
For good, faith and our future Tsar!
Added after the proclamation of the Tsardom
And in our moment of,
Truth, we shall cry atop,
Atop, our very lungs,
For good, faith and our dear Tsar!
*Graviant - shortened way of saying "Oktavgradian"

Origins

The songs originated out of the sudden conflict between the Archduchy of Oktavgrad and the so-called "Triple Leauge" (or alliance) that broke out during the beginning of the reunification wars. It put the Archduchy and its leader, Nikolay Aksynov (later first Tsar) into an absolutely desperate situation, as they were facing a war on three fronts. With this potential catastrophe looming over the great plans of the Archduke of an imperial reunification, the people and the army had to be shown the dire position the whole nation has found itself on. The whole song was put together by military marching bands cooperating with each other, with the intent to create something easy to play in the field and to remember by the common folk. It quickly became extremely popular with the general public and the army and was even adopted as an unofficial anthem of the Archduchy. The Archduke himself is said to have sung it almost every day during the time of the conflict with the Triple League, to keep his personal spirits up. After the miraculous victory of the Archduchy over the League, the song remained a very strong patriotic symbol of the Oktavgradian people, who were now setting their first steps on the path to reclaim the lost imperial glories of the past and bring all the Daoinian people under one banner once more.

The song now

The fame and symbolicism of the song still goes strong, with it being often played during military marching bands parades, public ceremonies, etc. Its status as an unofficial anthem is also something that has remained unchanged.
