Palace of the Gods

The will of Kings and Queens is insignificant to will of the gods, those who channel that will, are of more importance than those who do not. No mortal duty to a king, outweighs one's duty to the gods.-The Hierophant
The Palace of the Gods is home to the most temples and shrines in the realm. Every God in the realm that is known has a temple in the Palace of the Gods, and this multitude of gods requires a lot of workers to keep the shrines and temples clean. Therefore the local high priest, The Hierophant has enlisted an army of religions priest, paladins, and clerics to aid the caretaking of this area. While the pay isn't very extravagant, they are provided a home, food and water, and a purpose worthy to those who serve the gods. The grounds of the Palace of the Gods is made up 5 distinct areas and each area represent a different class of gods and/or signifies their divine rank within the Crossroads. They are separated by Primordial,   Notable Landmarks:   The Shrine of Oaths: The center of the district is dedicated to the Goddess Styx and her children Nike, Bia, Kratos and Zelus. This temple has each of her children the corner points, and unlike most temples there are no wall blocking out the Elements. People sometimes confuse this with the place to make oaths or make them more potent, but the reality is an oath to styx carries the same weight anywhere in the realm. The Priestess of Styx, is only at the shine to teach and warn people about making oaths, and she will prevent any oath being made at the shrine that is made in a way the in dangers people.   The Arche Naós: Located along the north side of the Shrine of Oaths is the temple dedicated to Chaos and the Primordial deities. An ever shifting statue stands at it center, with multiple rings of statues around it. These rings are known as the Kuklos and are named for their origins, and they are known as Alpha Kuklos, Beta Kuklos, and the Gamma Kuklos.
  • The first ring is dedicated to Chronos, Eros, and Nyx,
  • The second to Gaia and Tartarus, and
  • The third dedicated to Ouranos, Ourea, Pontus and Thalassa.
The Pinnacle Naós: The Northwest Quadrant of the Palace of the Gods is dedicated to large temples to the most important gods of the realms, these temples are of the same size and in general have a one of Hierophant's Hierei or Hiereiai.
  • Temples to Athena,Kronos, Poseidon, Hades, Zeus, Hekate, and Hyperion are located in this Area. The rulers gods have the biggest temple, followed by Hyperion, and then Athena.
The Omega Naós: The west End of the Palace of the Gods houses gods that have cemented themselves as powerful and influential. They have the ability to put an end to of the enemies of the realm and their patrons are honored highly in the Palace of the Gods. They receive a lot of care and the Diocese Hierei are very bard like and tell the story of the gods and why the can help the citizens of realm.

The temples have Hiereiai to take care of them but the temples don't have a dedicated Hiereiai for each temple. The Diocese has said when they get more priest theses temples will be the first to get their own person Hiereiai, but the duty is on their patrons to gain these gods glory so they can rise in the ranks in the meantime. This has led to Patrons and Priest taking ever increasingly dangerous jobs to gain more worship for their deities. It is no surprise that some gods feel slighted in this area of the Palace.

Though each god is granted to a shrine, they are located in a forest that was designed to honor Pan. There one Hiereai that tends to this area, and she surprisingly is very good about keeping shrines the way the gods would want them. It is very hard if not impossible to move out of this forest, and Rhea had a temple built by the priestess of this area.
  • Within the woods you can follow the trail and find shrines dedicated to Pan, Helios, Asteria, Asclepios, Selene, Aether, Artemis, Eos and Hemera, Harmonia, Amaterasu, Susanoo, Gilgamesh, Freya, Kratos, Lupa, Yohie, Calypso, Akleope, Aceso, Hygea, Persephone, Iaso, Isis, Leto, Erus, Boreas, Echo, Zepherus, and Panekia.
