Heaven's Tear

They say even the heaven's tear up when they see the Grotto, thus this district received its name. The section of Athens has the cheapest looking homes, and some are crudely built upon other homes. It feels like it is a not a part of the City, and while the Wisdom Guard has made attempts to clean it up, the ruling factions and gangs keep them from succeeding in restoring the Grotto.   Heaven's Tear is a district of pride and resilience, and the people that live there aim to keep their home as it should be.   One of the most notable things about the Grotto is the sheer amount gangs located here. Most factions start out as a group of allies or form a gang, and work towards being recognized as faction in the land. The headquarters of the Table is located in the Grotto, and it is one of most of defended areas of Athens. The Table seats almost every leader of the recognized factions of the realm, and a lot of the day to operations of mortals is indirectly influenced through the Table.    The casino of the grotto is also the unofficial center of Heaven's tear.   Notable Landmarks:   The Renaissance: A casino slash tavern and the nicest building in the Grotto.   Lost and Found: This is the Klepths faction base in Athens.   It appears to be a broken down and condemned building, but nonetheless the faction calls it home.   In the center of the ruble their is clean section with a desk.   There you will see a curious male baset, his black fur bends the darkness around him and the slits for eyes stand out like a star in nights sky.      The Mournful Tree: There is a cypress tree located in Heaven's Tear, it is known as the mournful tree and is symbol of justice in the Grottos of the realm.   The Cypress tree represents mourning and death, and so it is favored symbol of hades.   The tree can be found on a hill overlooking the Garden of Persephone, symbolizing his love for her.  Many of the residents pray to this tree for help when someone has wronged them.   If the injustice is great enough, then perhaps the prayer will be answered.     Garden of Persephone: This beautiful garden has no fences, but is surrounded by Pomegranate trees instead.   The Garden is blessed by her mother to be able to grow any type of plant no matter the season.  The people of this District use this garden to grow the crops to aid those who can't afford it.  All the paths of the garden lead to a statue dedicated to the Goddess.   The Hand of Midas: The Hand of Midas is a casino located at the entrance into Heaven's Tear.    While not as grand as The Renaissance, it is open to only resident of Heaven's Tear and travelers from other areas of the Crossroads.   The Owner is an Athenian Noble that works under one of the Senators of Athens, and so it is guarded fiercely by Athenian Soldiers instead of the Wisdom Guard.   The House of Hades: Somewhere located in Heaven's Tear is one of the temples of Hades, and it is said only true followers no its location.   It is rumored that there is a secret entrance to Erebus through the house of the lord.   The Temple itself grants visitor a chance to speak with the dead, or if they have a coin of the boatman to restore someone's life.
Location: West of The Agora   Population: 350,000 People   Housing: The housing of Heaven's Tear is below the poverty level, and most share homes with as many as 3 families per home.   Alof the homes are built on top of one another, and can be as many has 3 homes high.    There are alot of low rent apartments in the area, and while there are many fountains only a few provide purified water, and they are generally claimed the gangs and factions of the district.
  • The hearth and Home:  A place for travelers to come and rest, and while it is not the finest looking inn, it is the most comfortable inn to stay in.  
Shops:
  • Junk is Treasure: Local Blacksmith ran by a Centaur name Cladeus.
  • Spirits and Ghouls: A Bar ran by a very rotund Satyr named Taaf.
  • The Dew Drop: Another Tavern ran by fresh water nymph name Freshesca. 
  • Faun Shop: A pawn and magic shop ran by a Faun named Daisy.
  • A humble Shop:  A decent general goods shop ran by a titanborn of Rhea named Meadow
