Charon

Ferryman of the dead and personal servant to Hades.     Alignment: Neutral   LORE:  When a person dies their soul travels to the underworld to receive judgment for the deeds/crimes they committed.   The first being a soul meets in the underworld is this boatman, and he will be your guide through the realm of Erebus.  This is of course if you have the toll required to board his ship, and no amount of pleading, bribing, or threats will get you on his ship.   The docks on the river acheron are littered with the lost souls of people that were not given proper burial rights, and they will remain there until the toll is paid.   A servant to Hades, he was given the wondrous job due to his mother and father, but has proven more than capable of doin ghte job.   One of the most trusted servants in Erebus, Charon is known for being a highly capable daemon spirit.  Some time after the contract was forged for heros, Charon developed a coin with the help of Hekate and Thanatos known as the Coin of the Boatman.   This allows the owner to be revived without having to fight through the gates of death, and is the only known item to allow resurrections type spells to work in the Crossroads.   Those who read this remember these words, always save two coins for the boatman or forever be banished to the Docks.  —Hecate.   Personality Traits: Described as a being of dedication and sense of duty.   He does not negotiate with any one that has passed, and has angered many gods for not ferrying or releasing their warriors from docks.   Ideals: Death is natural and should always be honored regardless of alignment.   Bonds: Acheron, Hades, Nyx, Erebus, Himera, Persephone, and Thanatos.   Flaws: The two coins seems to be outdated in this age of magic, and many gods are no fond of their warriors being bound to Charon.   Symbol: The Ferryman    Worship:
  • Place two coins on the eyes of any dead that you witness does not have coins.
