Yanca Solovyova (a.k.a. Baba Yaga)

Commonly known as Baba Yaga, Yanca is a sorceress of mysterious origin. She is said to be a vastly powerful mage, known for her casting and the possession of various artifacts- many of which she obtained through magical and contractual dealings with various beings. While people seek her out for her power, she has a reputation for cruelty, though strangely, there are some who also contend that the old woman is as kind as she is powerful.

Personal history

Baba Yaga was born Yanca Solovyova on a distant reality some call Erizen. Few mortals know of Erizen, but even those who do have little information on the mysterious location itself. According to the Red Journal, the land she grew up in was cold, wooded, and devoid of magic. Her community was isolated from the world at large, so her interactions throughout childhood were restricted mainly to her small tribe of people.   It became apparent to her at some point in her youth that she had particular powers and abilities that other tribesmen seemed to lack entirely. Community-minded, she used them for the benefit of her people, but over time her efforts went unnoticed or unnappreciated. This led to a growing resentment in the young girl, who also found herself quickly becoming fed up with the petty affairs of her people.   Early in her adolescence, she discovered a mysterious crack in a cave that emitted a strange glow. She began to study it in private, keeping observational notes in her journal whenever she would sneak away to study it. Eventually determining it to be some sort of portal, Yanca made the decision to step inside and leave her people behind once and for all.   There are no known records that recount the period between her stepping into the portal and her being discovered in the Feywild, residing in a strange cabin resting on chicken legs.
