Wings of Love

Wings of Love is a high quality orphanage founded by Zakina Kociak-Falenmir. It's funded by her and an anonymous group of donors. The children living here are treated to three hot meals a day, snacks, toys, and a bed to call their own. With the help of Industria Cellini, they're also provided a formal education through the Florence Academy of Higher Education.   The building is fully staffed and works in shifts to ensure that the employees aren't overwhelmed. These leads to a much more nurturing environment for the children. Wings of Love is a large establishment built near the countryside of Florence. It's a two story manor with enough rooms and beds to house sixty children comfortably. There's a recreational room and a study, a large yard, and a guest house for the employees who sign on full-time. The children are kept on a schedule, though they're free to do whatever they please on the weekends.   Wings of Love is equipped to handle children of all ages, including infants. The building is sectioned into four wards for different age brackets. Caretakers are divided between the wards evenly, most of the older and more experienced carers opting to stay in the infant ward due to the intense level of care babies need. The orphanage also has a medical staff on hand for both the physical and mental well-being of its residents. Any caretakers who are caught mistreating the children in any way are fired and banned from the premises. In cases of extreme harm, they're turned over the guards immediately.

Purpose / Function

The orphanage's purpose is to provide a new standard of living for children who are without homes or a family. Too often, orphanages are run into the ground by overwhelmed staff and these places don't receive the funds necessary to operate. The public turns a blind eye to these problems, so Zakina has made it a goal of hers to bring attention to this system. With Wings of Love, she's hoping that the public sees the value in providing safe, comfortable spaces for these children to thrive. In time, she wants that attention to lead to better regulations and resource management for the city orphanages.
